He earns a crust bouncing on beds and reporting back on how comfy they are.The 32-year-old, who works as Asda’s chief sleeper, claims he has a super sensitive behind which can detect the subtlest differences in mattress fillings.

He has been working for the supermarket for nine years, has tested around 1,000 beds and has spent thousands of hours on his back. James said: “A lot goes in to selecting a bed – more than people might think.“Normally we test around 10 beds a week, and testing is definitely the most relaxing part of my day.“The average human spends a total of 227,468 hours asleep, so selecting the right mattress and bed is essential. “It is quite a personal thing and definitely depends on the space you are trying to fill. “Testing is definitely the most relaxing part of my day” “When it comes to the perfect bed, I always think it is a case of comfort being the sum of the parts.“The things to consider are the frame, the mattress and bedding.“A metal frame works well for smaller spaces, as the non-solid headboards give a feeling of space. “If you like to read or watch TV shows before sleep, then an upholstered bed is the best fit as the soft, padded headboards provide a comfortable back rest.”

James, who is from Lincoln, also revealed his key to the perfect night’s sleep. He said going to bed at 10:37pm, a comfortable mattress, a 13.5 tog duvet, hot water bottle and two goose feather pillows help achieve an ideal night’s rest.Asda say their most popular beds are Ottoman style frames along with king-sized mattresses. Tesco, Asda and Morrisons cut unleaded petrol price to under £1 15 Jul 2016, 3:44 Petrol prices have been cut to less than £1 a litre at a number of supermarkets.Tesco, the UK's largest fuel retailer with 500 forecourts, reduced unleaded to 99.9p per litre (ppl) and also took a penny off diesel.

Petrol at Morrisons tumbled even lower to 99.7ppl and diesel to 103.7ppl.Asda also joined the Christmas price war with a three-day promotion - ending on Sunday - which cut unleaded to 99.7ppl and diesel to 103.7ppl.Tesco fuel director Peter Cattell said: "We want to do all we can to help our customers in the run-up to Christmas."We know that our customers really value low fuel prices and that having unleaded for 99.9p a litre will really give customers a boost over the festive period."The cuts came after the price per barrel of Brent Crude oil dipped below 40 US dollars earlier this week.Luke Bosdet, of motoring organisation the AA, said: "The question for non-supermarket forecourts is whether they ride out the storm or take it on with price cuts of their own."If the latter, the UK could see a serious dent in the average petrol price by the end of the weekend."The wholesale price of petrol over the past three days has recovered a penny and, while nothing is guaranteed with topsy-turvy commodity prices at the moment, drivers ought to enjoy this early Christmas gift while it lasts."

Still, with a saving of £6.50 a tank compared to this time last year, that's the equivalent of free parking during the Christmas shopping period thanks to the supermarkets."The store manager at Asda Bournemouth is Wayne Bailey. Stephen has 'the time of his life" with Asda colleagues on Larne visit Stephen Gibson had “the time of his life” when our Larne colleagues invited him in for a special behind the scenes visit. The store’s Community Champion Catherine McCallion got to know Stephen through her time volunteering with Larne Adult Centre, which supports people with physical and learning disabilities. He told her he’d love to find out how the store is run – and the team pulled out the stops for him. Stephen, who’s 33, has severe learning difficulties and is epileptic. He’d visited the store on trips organised by the Centre to buy ingredients for their cookery sessions and enjoyed himself so much he asked Catherine if he could come in again.

Our Community Champions help celebrate 2017 World Book Day Our wonderful team of Community Champions have been dressing up as their favourite characters and visiting local schools and nurseries to celebrate World Book Day. Asda Boston Community Champion Stephen Bromby called in at Carlton Road Academy dressed as Where’s Wally. Stephen read a Peppa Pig book as well as taking multiple activities to entertain the children. Jill Garland and Syrita Clark, the Community Champions at our Cheltenham store, were both on hand at The Children of St Marks & Hester’s Way playgroup – dressed as Cat in the Hat and Maid Marian. Read more and see more photos Our new Free Range Milk comes with Pasture Promise guarantee We’ve become the first major UK retailer to sell Free Range Milk – from farms where it’s guaranteed the dairy cows have grazed outdoors for at least six months of the year. We’re introducing the new milk – which carries the Pasture Promise logo – after customers told us they’d like more information about the kind of farms their milk comes from.

The milk featured on the latest series of Channel 4’s Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast – and Jamie Oliver said: “I’m over the moon that Asda has announced they will stock Pasture Promise milk.” He said: It’s a fantastic step forward to help us all to make more informed decisions about the food and drink we buy. Colleagues arrange 90th birthday treat for John on his weekly shop When colleagues at our Wheatley store heard that regular shopper John Batchelar was turning 90 they arranged a special birthday surprise for him on his next visit. The store’s Community Champion Angela Young found out he was nearing his 90th at a community event she volunteered at, so decided to mark his big day by giving him a cake and birthday treats when he called in on his weekly shop.
