Synopsis:

Everyone has a part of themselves they cannot show to anyone else.
At a time when all nations of the world were involved in a fierce war of information happening behind closed doors, Ostania and Westalis had been in a state of cold war against one another for decades. The Westalis Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division (WISE) sends their most talented spy, "Twilight," on a top-secret mission to investigate the movements of Donovan Desmond, the chairman of Ostania's National Unity Party, who is threatening peace efforts between the two nations.
This mission is known as "Operation Strix." It consists of "putting together a family in one week in order to infiltrate social gatherings organized by the elite school that Desmond's son attends."
"Twilight" takes on the identity of psychiatrist Loid Forger and starts looking for family members. But Anya, the daughter he adopts, turns out to have the ability to read people's minds, while his wife, Yor, is an assassin! With it being in each of their own interests to keep these facts hidden, they start living together while concealing their true identities from one another.
World peace is now in the hands of this brand-new family as they embark on an adventure full of surprises.

In order to investigate the activities of a highly ranked politician, Donovan Desmond, Twilight has assumed the identity of a psychiatrist named Loid Forger. Further, to appear like a normal family man and get close to his target, Loid then adopted a young orphan girl, Anya, and entered a Marriage of Convenience with an Ostanian woman named Yor Briar... who unknown to Twilight are themselves a Telepath and Professional Killer respectively.

Yor Forger is the tritagonist of the SPY x FAMILY series. She is a clerical employee at the Berlint City Hall. She is soft-spoken and mild-mannered, but has a strong sense of humor. She has a bad drinking habit and falls into a coma when she drinks. At home, she struggles to be a good wife and a kind mother. Although her cooking skills are not very good, she likes to keep clean and is good at cleaning.
While she works in the capital of Ostania's city hall... or at least that's her civilian cover. In truth, she is an infamous Professional Killer known as "Thorn Princess". After becoming overly fixated on the idea her cover might be blown after a coworker ribs her about not being married or even having a boyfriend, Yor suggests to Loid a Marriage of Convenience, which he accepts, as he needs a mother for Anya for his own mission.

As of Mission (Chapter) 44, it is revealed that Yor is part of Garden, a powerful paramilitary assassin organization operating within Ostania.

Anya Forger is the deuteragonist of the SPY x FAMILY series. She is a young girl who Twilight finds at an orphanage. Believing her to be a smart child, he decides to adopt her for his mission. What he doesn't know is that Anya is an esper who escaped from the Lab that gave her the power to read minds. Starving for excitement in her life after spending most of it so far in a lab, Anya actively sought to be the one adopted by Loid and then make sure Loid and Yor got together, so she could have a spy and assassin for parents. Anya is the only Forger aware of just about everyone's Secret Identities, but keeps it to herself out of fear that if her psychic powers are exposed she'll be put in a lab again.
