I sleep on an air mattress. It's the only mattress that's ever enabled me to sleep (at least some of the time) without low back pain.

I thought I wanted a memory foam mattress--until I laid down on one at the mattress store a few weeks ago. My back started to hurt within 10 seconds! I slept fairly well on a medium-firmness mattress in a motel recently, but when I got up in the morning I could hardly walk for the pain. I'm sticking with my air mattress. OtherI am a Mattress Review Blogger - I've slept on Casper, Tuft & Needle, Leesa, & Just About Every Other Online Mattress. My name is Derek and I am a mattress reviewer and blogger. I have had the opportunity to sleep on and test almost every mattress available online including Casper, Tuft & Needle, Leesa, Yogabed, Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and others. Online mattresses have grown tremendously within the last year. For many they mean great cost savings and never having to set foot in a mattress store. I frequently receive questions about these mattresses, how they compare to each other, and which mattress is best. Happy to answer any questions. So ask me anything! You can find my blog and reviews here: Sleepopolis Update 7/24/15 - this AMA is long over, but I'm still around quite often. If you have any questions don't hesitate to drop a comment, PM, or contact me directly via my contact form. I'd be happy to answer your questions. π Rendered by PID 130323 on app-789 at 2017-03-06 08:36:46.241640+00:00 running f3f09f7 country code: SG.

Serta tops latest Consumer Reports mattress rankings , April 20, 2015 YONKERS, N.Y. — Serta took top honors in the updated mattress ratings released by Consumer Reports, the consumer products evaluation organization. And online mattress retailers Casper and Tuft & Needle received high ratings for their specialty sleep models. Serta’s Perfect Day iSeries Applause model was rated No. 1 on the innerspring list, while the Serta iComfort Savant EverFeel mattress rated No. 1 on the memory foam list. A total of five Serta models were included on those lists, the highest total for any company. In its May 2015 issue, Consumer Reports lists ratings for 18 innerspring mattresses, 18 memory foam mattresses, and three adjustable air mattresses. The Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Trust Cushion mattress was No. 2 on the innerspring list, followed by the Charles P. Rogers Powercore Estate 5000, the Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Hybrid Jeffreys Bay, and the Charles P. Rogers St. Regis Pillowtop.

In the No. 2 position on the memory foam list was the Spring Air Back Supporter Natalie, followed by the Tuft & Needle Ten, the Casper 10-inch, and the Bob’s Discount Furniture Bob-O-Pedic 11-inch Firm. The Sleep Number i8 Bed toped the adjustable air list, followed by the Sleep Number c2 Bed and the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Choice Supreme. Ikea had four beds on the innerspring and memory foam lists, while Simmons had three beds (two Simmons Beautyrest models and one ComforPedic model) on the lists. Stearns & Foster had three beds on the innerspring list, while Sealy had two beds on the two lists, and Tempur-Pedic had one, which was rated in the No. 18 position, the lowest spot on the memory foam list. Other brands listed on the innerspring list included Duxiana, The Original Mattress Factory, Saatva, Macy Bed, Shifman and Ashley Sleep. Other brands listed on the memory foam list included Sleep Innovations, Novaform, Night Therapy, Spa Sensations and Ara. Bedding insiders warn that the Consumer Reports mattress ratings must be viewed with caution, since many features of mattresses are difficult to quantify and evaluate.

Consumer Reports presents test results for these features: Side sleeping, back sleeping, durability, stabilization, resists bounciness, eases movement, and retains warmth. It did not specify the nature of the tests in its latest report. “At Consumer Reports, we test for attributes such as back and side support because a mattress that feels comfortable in the store may not be supportive enough night after night,” the story on the mattress ratings says. “So use our Ratings to find the most supportive options, then lie on the mattresses, if possible, to find the one that is most comfortable for you.” The mattress story is headlined, “The Myth of the $5,000 Mattress.” It backs that up by saying that “the spin” is that “spending thousands guarantees blissful sleep,” while “the reality” is that “You can get great, supportive bedding for less than a grand.” Consumer Reports evaluates sofas Top 25 furniture manufacturers Tempur Sealy CEO offers plans in wake of Mattre...
