I saw some great scenery on the way and arrived a few hours later. ... the ethical questions raised by the set up of the tour made it less enjoyable. We wondered to the town, which isn't really a town and searched for a beach resort Charlie found in her guide book.




We did lots of wondering around and getting lost but it all lead to us stumbling into all the places we wanted to go. We lounged in a beach side resort and drank and ate the day away.....Such a hard life! The next day we went for our first ever independent dive. It's 2.30pm NZ time Sat 11/1/14 - we're half way ... enjoyed a swim here, Mr Adventure to say the least. We watched a fishing boat with 6 men drag a net, a fishing village, beautiful as the sun sets. For us it was about 4pm, sun hot, feet in the beach water, along comes a group of teenagers who wanted to practice their English speaking skills. Jai & I had some fun with them sharing stories. The big drive home.... a steep winding road climb, the views back down ... ... into the temple grounds and saw some towers by the side. Arlan explained that there is a bell on top of the 2 storey high tower. The function of this bell is to notify the residents near the temple. He went on to explain that a typical Balinese temple does not only serve the purpose of prayer to the gods, it is also a gathering place for people to resolve disputes, for celebrations as well.
