Make way Marvel zombies, there's more heroes -- and villains -- coming to the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game. At Saturday's Marvel video game panel, the publisher announced the addition of several new playable characters to the October 22 game. Joining this franchise are the heroes Power Man, Iron Fist, Havok, Polaris, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ant-Man and Black Bolt, as well as villains such as Taskmaster, Absorbing Man, Nightmare, Pyro, Shocker and Electro (both the comic version and the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie rendition). And if that wasn't enough, they're also adding Aunt May. This comes in addition to the previously announced Asgard DLC Pack whichi includes the Asgardian heavyweights of Malekith, Kurse, Sif, Volstagg, Odin, Hogun, Fandral and Earth's Jane Foster. And a third group of characters will be available to those that pre-order the game. This super pack includes Dark Phoenix, Thanos, A-Bomb, Beta Ray Bill, Falcon, Winter Solder, as well as twelve new vehicles including the Spider Mobile.

However, for those following product tie-ins among movies and comic books, the unveiling also serves as a preview to possible development in the future, especially on the hugely successful franchises of The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man.
Among the additions are Beetle, one of Spider-Man’s earliest nemesis, a Samuel L. Jackson portrayal of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury, Doctor Doom, Nova from the intergalactic police corp, and Jonah Jameson, the cigar chomping editor of the Daily Bugle. But the most interesting designs are that of Spider-Man and Venom with its liquid-like shape shifting form. Could it be that Marvel is planning to bring back this archenemy in the next Spider-Man film? One of our favourite games to play together is Lego Marvel’s Avengers. The Lego games bring the perfect combination of humour and action to for both kids and adults. Lego Marvel’s Avengers has an entertaining and challenging story mode that transports its players through the first few movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe leading all the way up to Avengers: Age of Ultron. After my kids and I played through the story mode, there is an open world New York Manhattan hub area that we can pick up and adventure through whenever we want. My kids want to visit New York because they think it will be full of Marvel super heroes hanging around just like the game. That’s how New York really is…right? My kids are full of character and in this game, they have 257 different characters to choose from. If they can’t find exactly the super hero they want, they can create and customise their own Lego super hero.
