As reported yesterday, the NES Classic sells out in seconds each time since Monday. The $59.99 NES Classic is gone so fast that real-time inventory tracking services are not seeing it. We have confirmed that the NES Classic was in stock yesterday at 5pm ET. Don't Miss: Enter the I4U News NES Classic Giveaway! The NES Classic sells out that quickly because some people use a new shopping bot called Tai Ding. A guy named Ryan (@yungrynap) told us that he was able to score a dozen NES Classic at Walmart using the Tai Ding. He tweeted a screenshot of his receipts he received yesterday for the NES orders.Ryan has three years of experience snatching new rare sneakers using bots. Botters are a problem in the sneaker scene since years. Shoppers that take time and effort to try to hunt down new releases or rare items are getting cheated by people that know how to use bots. Bot scripts are able to complete a purchase as fast as the shop lets them do it. Dozens of items can be purchased automatically within the first second of availability.

Advanced shoppers have been using real-time inventory trackers, but that is not enough anymore to compete with bots on highly constraint inventory such as is the case for the NES mini. The developer of Tai Ding keeps the bot still close and only shared it so far with a few people. Humans do though still have a chance. He prepared for it perfectly and got lucky. "I knew the release was 2pm Pacific. I sat logged in to Walmart page for the NES Classic (already logged in and visa card already saved to the site to speed up the checkout) and as soon as my iPhone showed 2:00pm PT, I pressed refresh," he told us in an email."Of course the refresh was very slow, and then an error page popped up stating technical difficulties.  I immediately pressed 'back' and then the 'Add to Cart' button was actually available. The Check-out process was a little slow navigating from one screen to the next but I did it as fast as it would let me.  I had previously saved the store I want to pick up at as 'my store', which made it the default option at checkout.

What a beautiful sight that confirmation page was! Then I ran around the office yelling, I got it!"This is how you beat bots getting your hands on a NES. Michael's successful NES purchase strategy is based on good preparation. with credit card information stored into the account. You also should already select and store the Walmart store where you want to pick up your NES. This is faster and cheaper than getting it shipped. When it is time you need to move fast with your mouse and react to what is happening in your browser. Use the browser's back button in case the cart fails. It looks like Walmart has banned NES resellers from the shop. They listed some outragous offers in the past and some Walmart shoppers sure got confused this week seeing $200 and higher priced NES offered. The Amazon Market Place is still offering NES Classic consoles starting at $210.The new Nintendo Entertainment System is a great item for the Holidays. It works great as gift for adults as well as kids. Families can enjoy playing the simple video games from the 80s together.

There are 3rd party controllers and accessories that make the NES more fun to use.Nintendo knows it messed up, underestimating the demand for the NES Classic Edition. Nintendo has issued a statement on Twitter on November 11 acknowledging the shortage of the NES Classic Edition. "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability."The shrunk NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.Find more Holiday Gifts, alternatives to these hard to get toys, in the I4U News Holiday Gift Guide.
