Two UCR international students coming from the same homeland, studying Masters in computer science and completed BS program from the same institute. But one more noticeable aspect in common is the physical condition. Speaking of our region, Abdulmohsen is a rate example of people who decided to change their reality, overcome their physical weaknesses and struggle to continue their higher education. Though his story had a sorrowful end, but the pride can comfort. Professor John Crawford was my teacher for music composition and analysis as both an undergraduate and graduate student here at UCR. He was very knowledgable in his field and made learning an enjoyable experience. I received encouragement to expand my work beyond the scope of the classroom, something no other professor had done for me before. He made great contributions to music both personally and through his students, and he will be missed.
Full of grace, charm, wit and class, Tilda was indeed a friend to many as well as a wonderful friend to me. We enjoyed many lunches together at "her corner table" at the Victoria Country Club. One of our last meals together included Dr. Karen White whose company she also enjoyed immensely. Tilda was compassionate, kind and she loved to observe the beauty of the world daily through her own private observation deck — her dining room patio, sliding glass door.
