I worked for Select Comfort for almost 13 years. The beds in my opinion … are the best thing available in the Industry . Here's why : If you have a Sleep partner there is no way you are identical . So why would you compromise on one type of Sleep surface? Men generally have Flatter back's , this requires them to need a firmer Sleep surface . Women tend to have higher arches in their lower back , so in a lower setting the air conforms to each other's Sleep needs . The Sleep Number bed has independent air baffles running through the chamber. So when you adjust the setting it conforms to every part of your body. Filling in all the arches and curves in fit every sleeper . Not to mention, how different you can feel on any given night . Just pick up the remote and change it . With any other mattress how would you know what you need ? Your body is not a board nor does it sag to fit a conventional soft mattress. Lol If you have a Sleep partner the chances of both of you liking the same mattress is about 1 outta 1,000 .
Now when you couple the 8 inch chamber with some amazing Gel fit foam or Memory foam it's a win , win .!! With just a foam bed it requires heat to activate. But once it does conform to you , what will keep it from loosing its shape ? Air always goes up , the law of Physics. I've had my King bed for almost 14 years and the other queen for 8 . In a conventional mattress you have to purchase a new one quite often . Most people spend atleast $800 to $1000 every 5 to 8 years on a new matttress . I have many friends that have had Sleep Number beds for well over 20 years . Most people think that Sleep Number beds are way to expensive . It's a one time purchase for me so far and others “!! . You can buy a Queen Sleep Number for $799 and then go to a foam wholesaler and get yourself the thickest foam you can afford . Zip open your Sleep Number bed and put your new foam on top of the air chambers and zip it back up . Also , if price is an issue buy a piece of plywood , put that over your existing box spring.
You have created a top of the line Sleep Number . Just so you know I have not worked for the Company since Feb 2014 . This is my opinion . If you can afford it buy one with an adjustable lift. This is not exclusive to sleep number, but it does work great to adjust the air and the head and Feet to an upright position . So , much of us spend a third of our lives sleeping. So $2-$4,000 averages to be a much better deal . it's really not that large of an investment. They usually have three years of 0% interest. So if you can afford the payment that will help you purchase one . The only con I can think of is the price . And I think I overcame that possible Objection. Sleep well, dream big !!! ps , Sleeping is how the body heals . Without Sleep you cannot function . If your well rested , chances are you'll feel better . Don't toss and turn all night long . Or when you wake up with more aches and pains then before you went to bed “!! It's the old mattress . Invest in a new mattress , it's totally worth it .
My Sleep Number is a #35 .Here is what I know of the Sleep Number bed. You can see videos on you tube where they have developed mold due to the dark damp plastic bladder.Air pumps can become noisy if you are a light sleeper. Polyurethane foam creates body impressions, the plastic foundations have give to them so they are not proper for latex mattresses if you want to switch later on.They use foam edge encasement which causes the sleeper to loose sleep surface. They use chemical flame retardants. Plastic is bad for the environment and can off gas.If you are looking for a bed which each sleeper can control their own comfort level, a mattress that is better for you and the environment, that doesn’t have noisy air pumps, that won’t take a body impression or break down, then you might want to consider a organic mattress from Mountain Air Organic Beds.Show All ItemsI am going to show you have to correct a common fault in the Sleep Number bed system.
