With most airlines, babies under 2 years of age don't generally get their own seat on an aeroplane. Being lightweight and compact, it fits nicely into hand luggage, or the bag provided allows SkyBaby to be clipped externally to something else, e.g. the nappy bag. SkyBaby is fully washable and passes BS EN ISO: 12952: Part 1. SkyBaby is 56cm long (the width of the average airline seat) and 29 cm wide, and can be used from birth. SkyBaby can be used for babies of differing ages, depending on the size of your child and whether they will be happy to take a nap on your knee. The 'wings' hug your baby for extra comfort, and are quick and easy to open and close. Using a belt with the SkyBaby is simple. Whether visiting friends or family, or taking that much deserved break, take the worry out of air travel with SkyBaby Describe your product in 3 words. Not Rocket Science How did you come up with the idea for this product? As a regular traveller with her 2 daughters Rachel found that flying with babies was not easy. She was looking for a product to help create a comfortable sleeping environment during flights as an alternative to sleeping on her lap or in an airline bassinet on long haul flights. Identifying a gap in the market, along with her engineer husband she designed and manufactured a lightweight, practical travel mattress What makes your product special? Parents love the simplicity of the SkyBaby mattress. The SkyBaby is easy to use and can be used over and over again. Unlike bassinets provided by airlines (which are generally only provided on longer haul flights), the SkyBaby doesn't restrict where you sit on the aeroplane. And your sleeping baby can be carried on/off the plane in its SkyBaby.

What has been the best part of your startup experience? It really makes our day to hear stories from parents about how the SkyBaby helped make their flight more comfortable and enjoyable! It was very helpful in beeing able to hold a 9.5kg baby comfortable during a long flight. On the way going i didnt have a bassinette and still manage to get som sleep myself. Not useful as baby did not sleep in it at all. It's saved us from a screaming baby on a number of flights now. We bought it for our first flight with our 3 month old son.It makes flying much much easier, I would say it is almost indispensable.
