Glacier Valley Glade Area Crystal Clipper High-Speed Quad Spring skiing conditions prevail over 58 trails (100% of our skiable terrain). The glades are thin in spots, but there's still decent coverage in the Backyard and Glacier Valley glades. Summer Ski Lift Rides A FUN WAY TO GET TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN Just because the snow has melted in the summer doesn’t mean the slopes are vacant and ski lifts empty. Both Beech Mountain Resort and Sugar Mountain Resort offer scenic lift rides to the apex of the mountains that allow guests a fun ride and a spectacular view of some of the most breathtaking scenery the High Country has to offer.
These rides are great for kids and adults, and both resorts can accommodate large groups. So sit down and enjoy the ride to the top. Address: 1007 Beech Mountain Parkway, Beech Mountain, NC Scenic lift rides are offered Fridays through Sunday beginning June 6 at Beech Mountain Resort. The summer ski lift season runs until Oct. 19, so leaf lookers can enjoy a birds-eye view of the magnificent autumn colors that the High Country is famous for. The quad-chair lift is used to access breathtaking views stretching for miles and can accommodate 1,175 per hour. The ride to the top lasts about 5 minutes. If you mountain bike, you can rent a bike from Magic Cycles’ outpost on the resort, hook it to the tray system, which replaces every other chair, to attach up to four bikes. Then ride to the top and enjoy the downhill excursion from there. Or you can ride to the top and enjoy a beer at the new mountaintop bar 5506, which has a large viewing deck spanning 2,800 square feet. Beer tastings, family events and activities such as yoga will take place atop the Beech as well.
Tickets can be purchased at the bar. • Scenic lift rides are not available during winter operations • No guest is guaranteed access to a lift ride • Times of lift operations may change and are subject to weather conditions • Thunder and lighting may cause the lift to be closed • Riders must be in suitable physical condition • Dress should be appropriate for changes in temperature and weather • Children must be at least 36” tall • No child carriers allowed on the lift • Parents are responsible for the safety of their minor children • Backpacks must be removed and held on the chair or in the passenger’s lap • No persons appearing to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will have access to the lift rides • No alcohol is permitted on the lift • No dogs permitted on the ride • Riders must be able to properly fit into a rescue harness • There are no restraint straps or belts on the lift
