I can't say enough... on June 26, 2011 I was in the area to be with a family member who was dying. Not only was the natural environment secluded and peaceful, but Mariot was a wonderful host and made sure I was okay. She helped me get through this most difficult time. The food was fresh from her garden and delicious and, since I'm a dog lover, I found her little Aussie sweet and not a bother at all. I felt like I was at home. and I can't say enough about my experience at Homeplace.

on July 30, 2010 Very nice and unique accommodations, beautiful gardens and grounds, quiet and restful location in secluded country setting. Mariot, our hostess, was friendly and gracious, making all 14 of us - with children and seniors alike and a dog - feel most welcome. on July 26, 2010 Visited Vermont for the Vermont Cheesemakers' Festival and happened upon Homeplace whilst looking for lodging on the internet What a lovely surprise to find a little bit of paradise tucked away down a wooded road! The house is inviting and the gardens are lush and vibrant, not to mention the spring-fed pond which just calls out for someone to jump in. We always had animals growing up, so the dogs, donkeys, sheep and chickens made me feel right at home - all that's missing is a cat. I highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again. on May 31, 2010 If you want a place to get away from the stress of modern life, this is the place to go. With beautiful gardens and lots of open spaces to enjoy, hammocks, and a huge screened porch for gathering and relaxing, this is a wonderful place to connect with other family members or friends.

Having the barn and nearby farm animals was like having a miniature petting zoo right there. The hostess's dogs were very sweet and loved to visit with us, although, I'm afraid we might have taught them a bad habit or two...especially the younger one. The hostess was very accommodating and helped to make our time there a special one.
