Ever since Soho House opened in the mid-1990s, the exclusive members' club has been synonymous with laid-back chic.And now people who want imitate those achingly cool interiors at home are in luck, as the chain has just launched Soho Home, a brand new range of luxurious must-have pieces of furniture, textiles and kitchenware.While the high-end home accessories are no doubt flying off the shelves, you'll need deep pockets to invest in the collection, with a Chesterfield sofa priced at £3,995 while a velvet cushion costs £50. Soho Home is synonymous with laid-back chic, and now the chain has branched into interiors with a brand new range of luxurious must-have pieces of furniture, textiles and kitchenwareLuckily for homemakers on a budget, a raft of supermarkets now offer cut-price home furnishings that look far more expensive than they are.But can you really tell the difference between budget homeware and its more expensive designer counterparts?Explaining Soho House's decision to branch into home furnishings, design director Vicky Charles told the Telegraph: 'There’s always been a demand for "the look".'

We’d receive an email every other week, asking where we got certain things from, so it just made sense.' A key piece in the new range is a two-and-a-half-seater 'spoon' sofa in cumin mohair for £2,650, handmade in England and featuring pleated scroll arms (as seen in Soho Farmhouse) George Home's Elliott compact sofa is a more modest £275. The 'stylish and comfortable' piece comes in 'olive' and also features scroll arms, though it's finished in velvet rather than mohair Soho Home offers the sumptuous £50 Monroe square cushions in a range of colours including berry (right), but you may be more tempted by George's £7 budget version (left)But supermarket giant Asda reckons its George at Home range - which comes with a 100-day satisfaction guarantee - is just as good as the in-demand designer wares, with a press release announcing it has 'a wide range of look-alike furniture to rival the new Soho Home range for up to 96 FEMAIL has pitted Soho Home's best buys against George's purse-friendly pieces - so can you tell which is which?

A key piece in the new range is a two-and-a-half-seater 'spoon' sofa in cumin mohair for £2,650, handmade in England and featuring pleated scroll arms; members might recognise the piece from Soho House Chicago and Soho Farmhouse.However if that's a little out of your price range, George Home's Elliott compact sofa is a more modest £275. The 'stylish and comfortable' piece comes in olive and also features scroll arms, though it's finished in cheaper velvet rather than mohair. Soho Home has designed a smart crystal decanter set, made at the Rogaška glassworks in Slovenia. With each piece mouth-blown and etched by hand, you'll need to fork out £180 Shoppers might find George's five-piece version a little more purse-friendly at £65. Made from lead crystal, they promise to add a 'splash of panache' to any dinner party or nightcap When it comes to textiles, Soho Home also offers the sumptuous Monroe square cushions in a range of colours including berry. While it retails at £50, manufacturers are keen to point out that the velvet is made from 100 per cent cotton rather than polyester and the cushion is stuffed with feathers for extra plumpness.

But if that's a little out of your price range you may be more tempted by George's £7 version which, at a glance, is near-identical and features a smart 'Oxford' edge.Moving onto the drinks cabinet, Soho Home has designed a smart crystal decanter set, made at the Rogaška glassworks in Slovenia. With each piece mouth-blown and etched by hand, you'll need to fork out £180 for the decanter and four glasses.If your budget doesn't stretch that far, you might find George's five-piece version a little more purse-friendly at £65. Made from lead crystal, they promise to add a 'splash of panache' to any dinner party or nightcap. Soho Home's cashmere throw, finished in Italy, is definitely an investment piece at £400 (right), while George's grey tassel knit throw is a snip of the price at just £14 (left) Thinking of splashing out? Soho Home's loft sofa in grey linen perfectly combines style with comfort and will bring a cool, contemporary feel to your living room (£3,295) For those on a budget, George Home's Valerie sofa at £525 (down from £625) comes in a range of colours and finishes - including a deep nickel grey not dissimilar to the Soho versionAs the nights draw in and the days get shorter, there's no better way to spend an evening than wrapped up in a luxurious blanket;

and it doesn't get much cosier than Soho's softer-than-soft cashmere throw.Made from two layers of cashmere knitted together, and finished in Italy, at an eye-watering £400 it's definitely an investment piece.But you could do a lot worse than George's grey tassel knit throw, which is a snip of the price at just £14. It won't have the same sumptuous feel as its cashmere counterpart, and it can't be chucked in the washing machine.However customers testify it's of a 'very good quality' and compares favourably with more expensive versions on the market. Soho Home's stylish kitchen cutlery set with bakelite handles - as seen at Soho Farmhouse - will set you back £59 (right); while George's strikingly similar 16-piece set is just £10 (left) Soho Home's Country House dinnerware set (£130): The 12-piece collection is entirely hand-glazed and perfectly emulates the laid-back vibe of Soho Farmhouse George's mushroom-coloured 12-piece dinnerware set is available on their website for £17.

Need a good night's sleep? You could splash out on Soho Home's goose down duvet, £280 (left) or George Home's Fogarty Siberian goose & feather down duvet, £50 (right)

George's Elliott medium sofa in soft linen, priced at £300 (down from £375), which comes in 14 different colours including pastels and deep jewel tones - perfect for cosy winter nights Soho Home's £2,450 flax linen sofa. Design director Vicky Charles calls it 'the perfect parlour sofa. It's perfect for a hallway, dining room, at the end of a bed or a little nook under the stairs'When it comes to kitchenware, Soho Home has got it covered - with everything from glassware to napkin sets on offer. Its stylish kitchen cutlery set with bakelite handles - as seen at Soho Farmhouse - will set you back £59.However, George Home's strikingly similar 16-piece riveted handle set is just £10 and even comes with a handy metallic caddy for storage.  With cutlery out of the way, you can complete your kitchenware collection with a set of stylish stoneware crockery. The 12-piece collection is entirely hand-glazed and perfectly emulates the laid-back vibe of Soho Farmhouse.But if the £130 price tag puts you off, George's mushroom-coloured set is available on their website for £17.
