The LEGO® Education WeDo™ Robotics Construction Set is a kit that introduces children to robotics in conjunction with the LEGO Education WeDo Robotics Software and Activity Pack. Using WeDo™, children are able to build and program LEGO models utilizing motors and sensors. The construction set comes with building instructions for 12 models and contains over 150 elements including: a motor, tilt sensor, and motion sensor. The WeDo™ Construction Set can be used with either the LEGO WeDo™ Software Package or with CHERP-W tangible graphical programming language, a research prototype developed by the DevTech Research Group at Tufts University. I am an ICT teacher and my school is about to buy some WeDo construction set to teach ICT to pupils around 13-14.We plan to use scratch for the software part, is it enough or do we need the WeDo software?Everything will have to work under Windows 7 IIRC.TIAByeEmmanuelIf you can use Scratch v2 online or Scratch 1.4 offline, then Scratch is all you need - there is no need to buy the Lego software. We feel the WeDo 2.0 will provide the best experience for participating teams. Both versions of the WeDo will be accepted, and in the 2016 season, all LEGO Education options can be used by teams. Inspire Set: Beginning in the 2016 season, all registered teams will use an "Inspire Set" which contains a LEGO model related to the year's challenge theme. The "Inspire Set" is a starting point for the teams' project and model, and will be an integral part of their program experience. Accessible Coach Materials: Coaches are the key to increasing the reach of FIRST LEGO League Jr. Therefore, Coach materials will be updated to be easier to use and understand, especially for new and potential Coaches.
