The Metro Richmond Zoo is excited to announce the opening of our new animal nursery!! Located next to the reptile house and meerkats, the animal nursery is where we will exhibit animal babies that our staff is hand raising due to parental neglect or health issues.           The first resident of First Litter of Snow Leopard Cubs We are excited to announce the arrival of two snow leopard cubs born to Elsa and Nitro on May 24th, 2016 after a three month gestation. There is one male and one female. First time mother, Elsa, is two years old. First time father, Nitro, is three years old.




Elsa’s maternal instincts have kicked in Kumbali & Kago 1st Birthday Kumbali and Kago celebrated their first birthday on May 12, 2016. Zoo staff gave them two birthday presents. Each box contained an ice block with meat frozen inside. The boys enjoyed ripping off the wrapping paper and eating their frozen treats. 13 New Cheetah Cubs! The Metro Richmond Zoo is excited to announce the arrival of 13 new cheetah cubs! On March 21, 2016, Milani, a second time mom, gave birth to 3 cubs (2 males and 1 female) sired by Hatari. On April 1, 2016 Vaila, a first time mom, gave birth to 7 cubs (this number only happens Who’s who is each litter?  Zoo staff shaves a small part of fur on each cub for quick identification. Kumbali and Kago, now 8 months old, got to play in the snow for the first time during Winter Storm Jonas. While the Zoo was closed, one of our zookeepers let the best friends run and explore in a large enclosed field covered with 7 inches of snow. Getting There & Parking There is a club car park with 24 accessible spaces for home fans - sold on a seasonal basis. There are 4 Blue Badge accessible spaces available for away fans located on the North Stand . Chesterfield have 100 wheelchair user spaces - 92 for home fans and 8 for away fans. 73 are elevated and 27 are pitchside. Away supporters are seated with their own supporters. North Stand (Away) – Raised platform for wheelchair users. This stand may be used by away fans.East Stand – High level platform to rear of the stand for wheelchair users (accessed via lift) Pitch level viewing area for wheelchair  users. The northerly section of this stand may occasionally be used by away fans. 




South Stand – Raised platform and pitch level viewing available. West Stand – High level platform to rear of the stand (accessed via lift) and Pitch level are available. Click here to view stadium photos.  NB: Under existing minimum standards for accessible stadia, the club should have 100 wheelchair spaces and they meet that figure. 75% of these should be elevated positions and the remaining 25% pitchside.  LPF's view is that many disabled supporters should be able to access general seating areas and only those with specific needs eg those who require extra legroom, or access via aisle seats or who need step free access etc should be allocated seats in the dedicated areas.  Based on the above, the club therefore meets the current minimum guidance. They should continue to monitor this and carry out regular reviews under the auspices of a full independent Access Audit. Both home and away fans can use accessible toilets inside the stadium, 2 are located in the concourses of each stand.
