Our services also include; painting and decorating, gardening, bulk uplift services, and home and office clearances.
As a social enterprise, Oskars supports those on low-incomes by providing low-cost, clean, safe, donated furniture. In addition, we provide youth employment, education and skills training to young people furthest removed from the job market, helping open up greater employment opportunities. The shop was very professional. There was lot of information on the walls about everything the charity does. Located in 55 Clark Street, Paisley, Oskars is open to the public and provides an eclectic mix of preloved sofas, bedroom furniture, dining tables and chairs, wardrobes, vintage furniture, shabby chic items and more – ideal for upcycling projects. Selling quality items at affordable prices, Oskars is perfect if you’re looking to update your home on a budget, or on a low income. For customers referred to Oskars from housing organisations or local authorities, we can provide generously discounted prices. We employ young people who face barriers to employment who spend 6 months with us in a real job environment.
Training is provided and support is given to find full-time permanent positions at the end of the 6 month period. To date we have successfully supported 29 young people into full time permanent jobs. Oskars operate a voucher system in partnership with housing associations and local authorities. This allows tenants to purchase items to the value of the voucher from Oskars. We aim to provide the best possible value to all our customers. Workshops can take place either at a community group meeting or in Oskars Showroom in Paisley. Participants will be asked to bring along an item for upcycling. A display board will showcase further upcycling ideas and information from the local council regarding recycling and any new initiatives. Oskars is registered with the National Re-use Phone Line. The national re-use phone line supports community based re-use organisations across Scotland to provide the public with a high level of customer service when donating for re-use. We are members of Community Resources Network Scotland, an organisation that exists to build a stronger community reuse, repair and recycling sector in Scotland. Their goal is to create real social, environmental and economic benefit within our local communities. Oskars are members of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations whose core purpose is to lead, represent and support Scotland’s housing associations & co-operatives. We are members of the Charity Retail Association which aims to promote the benefits of charity retailing to the environment, the community and to charity. We are Revolve accredited, a re-use quality standard for shops who sell second hand goods in Scotland. Revolve want to make it easier, more inviting, and safer for you to buy second hand items.

Q – Are there any restrictions on furniture accepted? A – All upholstered furniture, beds and mattresses must comply with the 1988 fire regulations. Q – Do you accept electrical goods? A – We accept electrical goods that are in good working order. If an item is not working and therefore unsuitable for reuse we can uplift at a cost for disposal. Please call us to arrange.
