All the scooters were out every day, and a great time was had by all (the weather was even kind). It was such a success that we hope to be invited to participate in other sporting, public and family events in the future.Aberdeen Harbour Community Action FundWe are delighted to announce that we have received funding from Aberdeen Harbour Community Action Fund worth £25,000 over the next five years.  This will enable us to pursue our development of Shopmobility Aberdeen into an organisation which provides assistance and support to anyone experiencing barriers to their mobility how so ever caused.

Shopmobility Aberdeen is a charity whose aim is to increase independence, freedom, self esteem and choice for people with disabilities. 




We are a service dedicated to helping anyone with a mobility difficulty, be it temporary or permanent, who wishes to visit Aberdeen city centre to conduct business, enjoy our many visitor and cultural attractions or to visit the city’s wide variety of shops, leisure and business services. We offer assistance to anyone experiencing a mobility or sensory impairment. By providing the loan of a battery powered scooter, a battery powered wheelchair or a manual wheelchair to help ease your walking difficulty, and the assistance of a volunteer escort if required. Shopmobility Aberdeen is about freedom to get about the city centre. You do not have to be registered disabled to use the scheme. It is available to those with sport or road accident injuries as well as those with long term disabilities. The service is open to anyone living in or visiting Aberdeen. Sustainable Connections Transport Team SCOTT - Recruiting NOW! SCOTT Volunteering roleShopmobility Aberdeen is now accepting applications from energetic motivated individuals who can work as part of a team to assist people experiencing mobility difficulties.  




SCOTT volunteers will improve the access, choices and independence of people who find it  hard to move freely around Aberdeen City Centre.  SCOTT Volunteers will receive training in disability awareness, British Sign language and in how to effectively guide someone with sight impairment, these valuable skills can then be transferred when applying for jobs, or looking for advancement in your current career.Volunteers can also help to raise funds on our behalf. There are numerous ways you can help: street collections; stalls and games at galas etc; assisting with the preparation of funding bids; helping to promote the work of Shopmobility among the business community etc. Wherever your skills lie, there is a fundraising volunteering opportunity for you.  This is your chance to provide practical help to people with limited mobility.
