Refer to the your vehicle owner’s manual for specific instructions on programming the HomeLink system.

Your model may look different than illustrated in this programming guide. Be sure that your vehicle is parked outside of the garage before programming the HomeLink Compatibility Bridge. Two people may be needed to program the HomeLink system. INSTALL AND PROGRAM THE HOMELINK® COMPATIBILITY BRIDGE Program the HomeLink in your vehicle using the new remote control included in the HomeLink Compatibility Bridge Kit in place of your original garage door remote control. Refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for programming steps. Plug the HomeLink Compatibility Bridge into a 120 vAC polarized outlet, located as close as possible to your garage door opener. Press and release the YELLOW “Learn” button on the garage door opener. The “Learn” LED will glow steadily. Within 30 seconds press and hold the programmed HomeLink button in your vehicle. Release the HomeLink button when the garage door opener light blinks. If light bulbs are not installed in the garage door opener, two clicks will be heard.

Press and hold the programmed HomeLink button for 2 seconds, three times. Your door should now be operational. If you are using the HomeLink Compatibility Bridge system with a garage door opener that has a Battery Backup system, ensure the original remote control is in programmed to the garage door opener and place it in your glove box for use in the event of a power outage. The HomeLink Compatibility Bridge remote control must be kept for future programming (i.e. a different HomeLink equipped vehicle, a new garage door opener, etc.). Make sure the outlet has power. Plug another device into the outlet to make sure it is working. Check the fuse box or circuit breakers. If fuses are blown, replace them. If circuits are tripped, reset them. Check the bottom of the garage door for snow and ice. A buildup of snow or ice can freeze the door to the ground. Clear away ice and snow on the bottom of the garage door. If the garage door has been repeatedly used, this may have tripped the overload protector in the motor. Wait for 15 minutes for the overload protector to reset before operating the garage door opener again. Check the door for anything that may be obstructing it. Remove any objects that are blocking the door from opening. Increase the up force if the door doesn't open completely. Turn the "Up" force knob clockwise to increase the open force. The "Up" force knob is usually located on the right panel of the unit, indicated by an up arrow. Extend the antenna on the back of the motor unit downward fully if the range of the remote is insufficient.

Make sure the lock feature is turned off if the door open button flashes but doesn't open the door. Check the garage door to ensure the manual lock is not engaged. Clear the memory and reprogram all of the remote controls if the garage door opens or closes on its own. Replace the lightbulb in the motor unit if the opener lights do not turn on.
