Make your flier, as well as all of your salon marketing materials, visually appealing. Use your company logo, high-quality paper and colorful photos to give prospects an idea of what your salon environment looks and feels like. Include contact information such as phone, address, website and links to social media pages. Overview Write a general overview of your salon that includes its background, average daily foot traffic and amenities. Highlight everything included with booth rental, such as receptionist assistance, appointment setting and phone support, access to equipment, supplies and products, and any specialties your salon is known for. You're essentially selling your salon to a prospective stylist, so highlight everything about your location that makes it an attractive workplace. Benefits and Perks Describe what sets your salon apart from your competition. Focus on the advertising you do to bring in customers and make stylists successful. The staff you hire has to fit your salon’s culture and understand the needs and wants of the demographic your hair salon services. Recruit stylists for your salon by advertising that you have career opportunities for licensed stylists. There are a variety of ways to advertise for a stylists positions at your salon. 1. Make a list of the education, experience and skills you expect the stylists you hire to possess. For example, you may want a licensed stylist with at least five years of experience in doing hair for weddings and special occasions. 2. Identify the type of schedule you’d like your new stylist to keep. You can hire a stylist for a full-time, part-time or as-needed position. If you operate a mobile styling business, or offer mobile styling services, it is important to communicate this in any advertisements you place for stylist positions.




3. Decide how your new stylist will receive payment. Some options include per-hour pay, commission or by letting your stylists pay you a monthly fee to rent a booth. Create a job posting that outlines the experience and education you want your stylists to have, gives an overview of your salon’s target market, location and culture. Benefits might include access to a diverse clientele, breakfast and lunch provided, discounted membership to a local gym, a partial wardrobe budget or access to hair training and education. 5. Ensure that they can send the communication to present and past students, especially if you’re searching for a stylist with years of experience. 7. Sign up as an employer on salon industry job search sites such as “Salon Employment,” “Behind the Chair,” “Salon Builder,” “Salon Gigs,” “All Salon Search.” , also allow posts for hairstyling positions. You can also post classified advertisements on sites such as Craigslist, under “salon/spa/fitness” jobs and on Backpage, under “spa/salon” jobs.
