The Warehouse which includes a Mezzanine deck and dedicated decontamination area complete with a multi stage Turbex washing chamber, holds a wide range of disability items to assist Service Users to live at home with any additional support needed that can be met by the use of specialist equipment.
In 2003 the Equipment Service Integrated with NHS Health Partners to provide a more complex range of equipment, a cost effective move which has proved to be very successful, and continues to evolve around changing trends, and current demands, which the NHS and Social Services are experiencing. In August 2010 the Equipment Service was transferred to Inspire Community Trust where it has continued to grow and develop. Until December 2012 the service was located at Thames Rd Depot in Crayford waiting until the new warehouse was completed, and the service then relocated to Slade Green in December 2012. Disability equipment is given on loan following an assessment by a Social Care or Health Care professional. Service Users may also have the option to purchase items of equipment via The Living Solution Shop, on site at Slade Green. On average our team of drivers and 1 support person deliver to 9000 service users per annum and in excess of 16.000 items of disability equipment. Some items are fitted or assembled by the drivers at the Service Users home. We also collect and refurbish approx. 61% - 70% of equipment. With prior arrangement Service Users or their representatives can collect equipment in person, Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 16.30. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and hard working person to join the Equipment Delivery Services as a Driver Support Person where you will be working with the ICES drivers as well as carrying out a number of duties within the Warehouse. You may on occasion be asked to drive the Renault Long Wheel Based vehicles to provide cover for driver’s absence at enhanced hourly rate. Based at Inspire Community Trust at 20 Whitehall Lane, Slade Green, DA8 2DH you will be joining a team working in partnership with Bexley Council and NHS to undertake delivery, collection, cleaning and refurbishment of a range of disability equipment to service users homes as well as to Hospitals and District Nurse Clinics within the London Borough of Bexley.
On occasion you will be required to travel outside of the Borough to undertake delivery or collection of equipment. You need to be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting. You will be required to manage a diverse work load on a daily basis, observing/maintaining Service Users dignity and confidentiality at all times and to adhere to Inspire’s Health & Safety Policies. The service covers 7 days per week and you will need to be available both Saturday and Sunday morning. We are also required to provide a delivery service on all Bank Holidays except 25th & 26th December and Easter Day. A full clean UK driving licence is preferable but not essential.
