What's not to like?|Amazing, high quality designer chairs I went to school for architecture and ever since we covered the Eames, I've wanted classic Eames Eiffel chairs. I finally convinced my husband we should buy some and after looking at all the different options on Amazon, I actually bought 2 different brands. I figured I could just return whichever ones I liked least. I ended up keeping these, the 2xhome brand, because the quality was substantially better and they are more comfortable.These are a bit higher than other brands. Not too much, but enough that I found them more comfortable to sit in. The seats are also larger and more molded to create a comfortable space for your body.
My husband and I had some friends over to play board games and no one was uncomfortable sitting in these chairs for several hours at our dining room table. I have a bad back, hips and knees so sitting down for any length of time is generally a very uncomfortable experience for me. Not the case with these chairs! They're much more comfortable than the chairs I had previously, which admittedly were cheap Ikea things. The plastic seats on these are thicker than other brands as well. I compared it to the others I bought and found them to be much sturdier with less give. The others would flex back when you put any weight on the back of the chair. These only do slightly, which is way more comfortable and makes me feel like these chairs aren't going to collapse under me.There's no indent where the seat attaches to the legs, which was something I was very disappointed to find on other chairs. It really ruined the look of the classic Eames styling. The orange peel texture, which is an important feature of these chairs, is gorgeous.
It's a matte finish that has little dimples, just like an orange haha. It adds some interest.The wooden legs are really nice. The legs are sanded and covered with a protectant that makes them nice and shiny and smooth. The metal that creates the Eiffel look is painted wonderfully. There's no imperfections in the paint at all. The wire is also thicker than other chairs, making them more sturdy. The hardware is great as well. 2xhome uses some sort of locking screws that don't require tightening. My toddler drags these chairs all around our dining room so that she can look at and feed her Betta fish and other chairs we've had I was forced to tighten the screws every few days because they were coming loose.Cleaning these is a breeze. I either use just a little soap and water or a general all purpose spray. Either one cleans them easily. My aforementioned toddler gets our chairs dirty constantly, whether it be from crafts at our table or eating or just being a kid so chairs that are easy to clean are a requirement.
