out of 5 stars My original actuator was seized in the open position. This part solved the problem and I can lock my car again. No problems with the fit and hook up. Acculator was perfect plug and play oem replacement very happy Great up grade replacement Great factory upgrade replacement. Pretty easy to do on your own. Just need to borrow a large rivet gun from a local garage or body shop. Easy install if you have the proper tools! If you take your time and don't rush. As good as the original ... I forgot that there is a bit of resistance when you turn the key from outside, but this works as well as the original ever did. Works ok after it has a little break in period. Price is right though. These door lock actuators are a perfect fit with the tools they provide, guaranteed the best quality. The actuator work very well better than I expected price of the actuator was very very reasonable This is a great product. It was easy to install and comes with several different rod types to choose from to connect to the lock inside the door.

Installed in minutes and works great. The new Door lock Actuator! Thank you so much American Muscle for giving me the part I need to lock my driver door. It has been so annoying to know that anybody could get into my car. Installing this product was quick and easy. Best aftermarket door lock actuator I have tried. Very smooth operation including unlocking the door with a key where many actuators are not smooth opening with a key. Product worked as expected! Door Lock Actuator 1990 Mustang The actuator kit (2 actuators, 2 rivets, upholstery clips, upholstery tools) was complete for both door lock motor replacements. The actuators fit properly and are protected from the elements. It is great to have the doors locking/unlocking again. Good only missing one thing It worked great was pretty easy to install. The only bad thing was it didn't come with a replacement rivet. So if you get this make sure you have one. Shipping was fast, and installation with the correct tools, is fairly simple.

Just match up your old one to a new rod, I recommend putting the rod on out of the car, loosening the door latch and then putting the actuator on. Make sure you have a big daddy rivet gun or equivalent with a 1/4" head and a 1/4" rivet. Easier if you hold the actuator in place and have someone else run the gun, unless you have a pneumatic gun, but the job is fairly easy. A very good replacement part. This unit has all the features you need to replace the original with an added bonus of a protective rubber cover tht was not on the original and the fact that it is located in the door where water can get in it adds that extra level. It comes with different pins to give you the best fit for your model. If you are a handy person this is an easy replace. Door lock motor fit right in . It was a great fit . It's not an easy place to get too I would recommend this to anyone I have an 86 gt thanks Chris Went to my auto parts store to try to find this actuator, and they wanted 60 bucks for it...

Within 5 minutes of looking online I found this for less than half that. Parts & Accessories for your Car or TruckIs your 'door ajar' or 'dome light' staying on? Forum members suggest various methods that they fixed their issue. Spraying the switch with a lubricant Read the full discussion below to find out the preferred method. Door Ajar Alarm/Light Fix An interesting find on old problem(int. lites) Here's another possible fix. the lights would be on but the "door ajar" light on the dash wouldn't be on. Well, I got a can of CRC Electrical cleaner and a can of CRC White Lithium Grease. For only $9.68, I sprayed all the latches with the cleaner, and that fixed the door ajar light! I sprayed them good with the grease and worked them a few times with great results! I am not sure why replacing the switches did not fix the problem, but now it is all good! As for a switch in the rear gate, I don't see one. There are no electrical wires going into the gate.

Of course, I srayed those latches clean and lubed them up real good also. Thank you to everyone that has helped with this problem! I had the problem with the "door ajar" and interior lights staying on. Did the WD-40 trick to the latch on the tailgate of my 98 expedition and that fixed my problem. My door ajar light just started staying on today ('98 stepside 4wd, 4.6). Will be trying the "fix" this weekend. These forums are great. I had been driving a VW Beetle the last 2 years when gas prices went through the roof. Then read about Kerry, Streisand, and the rest flying around in their private jets burning who knows how much fuel telling us we need to conserve. Decided the "H" with them; went out and bought the truck; cold weather the cause???but how many of you who are having this problem, live a climate that is colder more than warmer. If so, this is your answer. These trucks hate cold weather. Ford in way forgot that they won't all be driven in the south and in dessert climates.

My 04 does all types of stupid sh@t when it's cold. My door window button lights don't want to work. My heat extractor vent under my wipers pops up, and there is this weird electrical whine when you go over 50mph. All of this happens only in subfreezing temps. Volvo always includes a cold weather package with their cars, perhaps Ford should copy this idea, being they own Volvo now!! best regards to all!! Lee thanks for th tip. That issue has been bugging me for years.. Ford has announced that the automaker is recalling 280,946 F-150 models in the United States and an additional 68,000 in Canada for faulty door handles. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, the interior handles feature a housing embossment that may fracture with normal use. If this happens, the door latches may not fully return to their stowed position, and as a result, the doors may pop open during an accident. NHTSA says that recall covers certain 2009 and 2010 model year trucks manufactured between January 18, 2008 and November 30, 2009.
