Begin by placing one ruler (sticking halfway out) between the mattress and the box spring. Place the yardstick (or broom handle) parallel to the ruler on top of the mattress. Now, take your other ruler and measure the space between the yardstick and ruler. That is the gusset measurement. When you purchase your fitted sheets, be sure that the gusset measurement is the same or greater than your mattress. Q.
