QA Automation Engineer

A British company with over 1,000 people employed in offices across Europe, Asia and Australia. The company is a global financial technology provider which powers the wealth management, administration and custodian platforms for leading financial institutions. They develop long-term partnerships with customers, transforming their customer service offering and helping them grow their assets under management across multiple distribution channels. The company partners with life insurance companies, banks, asset managers and discretionary wealth managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathering the requirements in order to deliver automation solutions and save manual testing time
- Designing, development and customization of automation modules/tests enabling
- Collaborative working with Test Teams
- Low maintenance approach incorporating a shared automation library
- Variable data to be input via User Interfaces
- Implement test automation in the Continuous Integration and Version Control processes
- Developing tests to ensure that the automation works correctly, visualize and present results
- Participating in test automation framework enhancements
- Communicate and distribute the test automation capability to other teams
Qualifications:
- Skills in test automation development on enterprise-level systems (or equivalent)
- Strong design skills
- Knowledge of software development practices, including version control, code reviews, design patterns, continuous integration and refactoring
- Knowledge of software testing and quality assurance practices in software development (Test stages, Regression tests, Risk based planning etc)
- Good SQL, database & systems knowledge
- Experience in any programming or scripting language (C#, Java, .Net, PHP, Groovy, Python, etc)
Will be a plus:
- Selenium IDE, Selenium WebDriver, WatiN, SoapUI, QTP, Fitnesse, NUnit, xUnit, Gallio, Visual Studio or other
- Agile
- Project management tools
- Performance testing and system optimization
- Experience in working with colleagues in other locations (Near shore teams)
- Experience with OOP
- UML and the ability to produce effective documentation
- REST, SOAP, HTTP, XML.
- Knowledge of financial business covering client applications
