But has the fifteenth (proper) instalment in the poplar RPG series been worth the wait? Read on for our review, and the cheapest places to buy the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game. Final Fantasy XV is an open world JRPG from Square Enix like very few before it. From the humble opening with the four main characters stranded with their broken down car, I knew it was going to be something, unlike anything I’d seen before. While you play as Noctis, the young Prince on his was to marry Luna, a high profiled lady of a distant land in an attempt to sort out certain diplomatic issues, all four of the handsome boys that take up the screen time are integral to the story and more importantly, feel real.

Final Fantasy XV is an open world action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home consoles Final Fantasy XV was released on November 29 after years of anticipation As you can expect with a Final Fantasy game, the high hopes of the band of brothers soon take a sharp nose dive as things back home go from bad to worse. If you’ve taken the time to watch the Kingsglaive movie then you’ll have the best idea of the issues at hand for the Noctis and chums. It didn’t take long before I was taking on quests and helping the locals while they fixed my royal motor. Final Fantasy XV took a little time to help me along and teach me everything I needed to know in the first hour or so. After a few hours and some sad news from back home the game really opens out and this is when you really get to experience this game at it’s best. The world of Eos and more specifically Lucis are really a sight to behold.

This behemoth open world that is there for you to explore is truly one of the engaging places to explore that I’ve played. Final Fantasy XV is an open world JRPG from Square Enix and opens with the group having broken down The landscape changes as you drive through the different areas all while looking fantastic. Each area feels unique and has plenty of things to discover. It’s not just the world that looks phenomenal; character details are right up there with the best. Each of the four boys move around the world so fluidly and it brings another level to the immersion. It’s hard to find any fault with the visual beauty of this game. I could spend forever finding new and interesting bits of the world to explore. Much of the content I’ve discovered in the open world is not forced into your hands and it was a joy when I discovered dungeons that I could have missed if I was just ploughing through to the end of the story. Even after the story was completed I was free to return and explore to my hearts content with new quests and dungeons to traverse.

The four main characters, pictured, are integral to the story and more importantly, feel real Much like any Final Fantasy, the story takes requires your utmost attention if you want to make any sense of it. It’s a story worth listening to if you take the time to appreciate it and not take it too seriously; regardless of how serious everyone in the game is taking it. I’m not here to debate if it’s been worth the wait or if the game could ever possibly live up to the hype that has surrounded it for the last decade. This is the best game I’ve played this year. It’s deserving of the Final Fantasy name and is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've had in a long time. The world is beautiful, the bromance of the characters is heart-warming and it’s going to keep its hooks in me for long after this review. Final Fantasy XV is available on PS4 and Xbox One for RRP £49.99, rated 16+. The game is on the market at RRP £49.99 and comse in both Xbox One and PS4
