In 2001, The British Track Cycling Team found, due to the high loads being applied by athletes, they were having increasingly frequent equipment failures. With commercially available equipment not proving to be up to the task, UK Sport embarked on an Equipment Development Programme. Until 2007, equipment was only available to the British Team, now, to bring it in line with new UCI regulations all of the current GB teams equipment is commercially available via UK Sport. All frames comply with the latest UCI regulations and carry the required certification stickers. All safety equipment, such as helmets, have passed the stringent EC safety testing required by the UCI. The equipment outlined in this document is manufactured in the UK to order by hand consequently lead time from order to delivery can sometimes be long. Items such as the frame and helmets were developed using cutting edge techniques, this R&D was funded by UKS and British Cycling. Although most of this expenditure has been absorbed by the GB Team, the very low volumes of equipment produced, the the construction methods outlined above plus the use of the very best materials means the price of these items is in line with their specialist nature.

The Sprint Helmet uses new materials to keep weight to a minimum. It comes with a choice of three visors (tinted, iridium and clear) and is designed to work well even over a variety of head angles. Usable for Track or Road events, the aero helmet comes with a choice of three visors (tinted, iridium and clear). Developed over 2 years for the GB Women’s road and track team, the Pursuit/TT Saddle is ergonomically designed to give comfort whilst riding in an aero position. The tuned silicon material creates the right compromise between support and softness. Lenticular carbon fibre disc wheels with low friction ball bearings. The wheels are made with carbon rime and hubs. The only metal parts are the axle hardware, bearings and the part where the sprockets are attached. Currently, only a track version is available. Developed for use in BMX events these legs guards are designed to be comfortable, durable and lightweight whilst offering top levels of protection. The materials offer a superior and secure fit for the dynamic movements required in BMX and padded material also offers abrasion and impact protection in addition to the hardshell carbon fibre shin and knee guards. Designed specifically to fit with the Cervlo TD054S frames. The sprint handlebar is a progression from the UKSI Sprint bars and is offered in a number of different configurations of various stem lengths and width of the bars. Bars are either fully titanium or a mixture of Titanium and carbon fibre using additive manufacture methods for the titanium and traditional carbon fibre moulding for the bars and handgrips. Full titanium bars are available in 26 cm width. Titanium stem with carbon bars are available in fixed widths of 28, 32 and 35cm.
