When deciding between a plush and pillow top mattress, take into account your sleeping preferences, support needs and softness requirements, as well as the structural elements you need in a mattress. Plush It Up A plush mattress has quilting under its surface fabric and is softer than firm and extra-firm alternatives. For many, plush is a happy medium between a firm and a pillow top mattress.
