We are looking to hire a PHP Developer to join our busy operations team in Addis Ababa on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

• Developing clean, well-tested PHP code.
• Contributing at all stages of the software development life cycle.
• Mentoring junior team members & assisting the Team Lead.
• Promoting coding standards, debugging, unit testing, and development best practices
• Developing new functionality to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business.
• Development of Unit Tests
• Performance optimisation.
• Integration of their platform with third parties.

Job Requirement

Qualification:

• 3 to 5 years’ experience as a PHP developer, hands on quality coding experience
• Proficiency in OOP with a good understanding of MVC practices
• An in-depth knowledge of the LAMP stack
• Good understanding of Linux, bash scripting, and the command lin
• Experience of working with web services (SOAP/XML-RPC/REST)
• Strong commercial experience working on bespoke web applications
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Significant PHP Development experience (flexible on frameworks).
• HTML5, CSS & JavaScript, MySQL, RESTful APIs, MVC, jQuery
• Any E-commerce or payment experience is highly desirable.
