Payoneer

Payoneer allows you to transfer your earnings directly onto a Payoneer Debit MasterCard.

Add Payoneer

1. Go to Settings  ›  Get Paid


2. Click Add Method


3. Click the Set Up button for your chosen method


4. Complete the Payoneer registration process (either by creating a new account or logging in to add Upwork to an existing one)


5. When you are finished, you will be automatically returned to the Upwork site


6. Choose a payment schedule and click Next

For security reasons, your new payment method will become active in three days. Remember that the name on your Payoneer account must match your verified name on Upwork. 

If you want to change your Payoneer account details for Upwork, the old Payoneer account will need to be disassociated by our Customer Support team. Click here for further information.

Remove Payoneer

You can remove your Payoneer account if you no longer intend to use it to receive your earnings from Upwork clients. 

1. Log into your Upwork account and choose Settings


2. Go to the Get Paid page


3. Scroll down to Payment Methods


4. Choose the three dots (...) near your Payoneer account


5. Select Remove

Update to Payoneer accounts in certain countries

Starting July 22, 2020, Payoneer may require additional steps when users in the countries below sign up for a Payoneer prepaid card. Please contact Payoneer customer support directly for details.

Service Exceptions

Payoneer has deactivated the Payoneer Mastercard service in Russia. Starting in May 2020, you can no longer transfer your earnings directly onto a Payoneer Debit MasterCard.  

You may continue using your Payoneer account, but you will not be able to use the Payoneer Debit Mastercard.

As of July 2, 2020, Payoneer confirmed that prepaid cards are being fully reactivated and you’ll once again be able to use them for ATM withdrawals, online and in-store purchases, withdrawals to your bank, making payments, and managing currencies. Many of you may already be able to complete some of these tasks, as Payoneer is resuming these options in phases. If you have any additional questions, please contact Payoneer directly.

How do I manually withdraw funds from Upwork?

Thanks for your question. To manually withdraw your funds at any time, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings  ›  Get Paid


2. Click Get Paid Now


3. Choose the amount to withdraw


4. Click Get Paid Now

How do I turn automatic payments back on?

To restart automatic payments, go to Settings > Get Paid and scroll down to where you see Schedule and click Edit Schedule to update. To learn more about automatic payments, see this article.
