Synopsis:
The story takes place in the year 2138 when virtual reality gaming is booming. Yggdrasil, a popular online game is quietly shut down one day. However, the protagonist Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

About Character and Role:
He is the guild master of Ainz Ooal Gown and regarded as the highest of the Almighty 41 Supreme Beings by the NPCs of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He is also the creator of Pandora's Actor.
A cautious and stingy person, Momonga always tries to plan and control details, avoiding any haphazard actions. Because he doesn't underestimate his opponents, he will usually overkill them. Since being transferred to a new world and becoming an actual Undead being, Momonga could feel himself becoming very cold and calculating, his emotions repressed.
Loyal to his friends and creations, since becoming Lord ruler of Nazarick in the new world he acts with a certain degree of nobility for his devoted followers. Momonga only does things that will benefit Nazarick or himself, whether its information or prestige. Although he does have a sense of justice and doesn't hate humans as much as his followers, he holds no attachment to them, and he feels nothing toward their deaths.
His real name is Satoru Suzuki.

The overseer of the Floor Guardians and one of the most powerful NPC in Nazarick. She takes the form of a beautiful woman with fallen angel wings and horns. Because Ainz modified her settings on a whim, she ends up madly in love with him. Albedo's romantic obsessions are so strong that if Ainz were to even glance at her body, she would immediately become excited. Albedo's obsession with Ainz has led him to greatly regret his actions. While she tries to act calm, as befitting of her role, any perceived insult against Ainz or Nazarick, real or imagined, sends her into a rage. Like most inhabitants of Nazarick, she despises humans which she refers to as "lower life-forms." Though the reason is not yet known, Albedo holds a strong hatred towards all of the 41 Supreme Beings except for Ainz. It is hinted that she is scheming to annihilate all the other guild members if they are found.

One of the Pleiades, combat maids of the Tenth floor under Sebas Tian. She's a DoppelgΓ€nger and, because she's one of the most human-looking of the maids, she is Momonga's companion in his exploration of the new world disguised as adventurers. Narberal takes great pride in this duty, often "wearing" it like a badge of honor. However, like most in Nazarick, she holds great disdain towards humans. This proves troublesome, as she becomes incredibly violent when human males make advances on her.
While operating as a member of the adventuring guild, "Darkness", Narberal operates under the alias of "Nabe", which becomes "Nabe, the Beautiful Lady" when Darkness becomes famous. Narberal's beauty has been compared to that of the "Golden Princess of Re-Estize" by many of the country's inhabitants.

One of the Guardians of the Sixth floor of Nazarick alongside his twin sister Aura. He's rather shy and calm in comparison to his sister, although he can fight and be ruthless when necessary. Like his sister, Mare is a Dark Elf. Mare specializes in Druid magic, capable of twisting the earth to his whims.

The Guardian of the First, Second, and Third floors of Nazarick, she has the form of a beautiful vampire girl. She's also in love with Momonga. She and Albedo constantly clash for his attention. While the two don't mind sharing Momonga, they still fight for superiority and who would ultimately appeal to Momonga. Shalltear is one of the most powerful guardians, allegedly capable of going toe-to-toe with Albedo. Due to an incident where she is subjected to mind control by a member of the Black Scripture, she ends up unintentionally rebelling against Nazarick.

About Character and Role:
Brain is a warrior turned mercenary after he lost to Gazef Stronoff in a grand tournament to determine the strongest fighter in Re-Estize Kingdom. He has brown eyes with blue hair and the appearance of a wild beast. He is equipped with a chainmail and wears a necklace and ring which are infused with protection magic. His whole body is lean and his muscles are tough as steel and tempered through experience.
Originally a farmer, he was gifted with what could only be described as a God-given talent in the mastery of the sword. He has always believed himself to be the strongest fighter inside the Kingdom, having never lost a fight before he entered the grand tournament to decide the King's guard captain. He easily fought his way to the final where he faced off against Gazef Stronoff. A grand and close battle ensued between the two, but eventually,β he would taste his first defeat at the hand of Gazef.
His fame was shattered and his confidence as an unbeatable warrior took a hit. He then decided to do everything he could to become stronger, so he would truly become unbeatable. At the same time, in order to make a living he started working as a mercenary for the Death Spreading Brigade.
When first introduced he is very arrogant, thinking that he is the most powerful, even though he earlier lost to Gazef. While a mercenary, he suffered a devastating defeat at the hand of Shalltear Bloodfallen when she attacked the hideout of the Death Spreading Brigade. After that, his personality changes drastically. Having his confidence completely crushed and getting a feel of what true terror is like, his attitude changes to one where he is completely depressed, hinting at a suicidal tendency.
He eventually does a complete overhaul after meeting Climb and Sebas Tian. He changes to a much friendlier person that starts to think that strength is more than simply being skilled with a sword.
In his second encounter with Shalltear, he managed to chip off Shalltear's pinky fingernail using Fourfold Slash of Light.
In the web novel version, he becomes a vampire under Shalltear.

Raised by a loving family, Enri has grown up to be a kind person, but has shown to have a strong character. As seen when she is willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of her little sister's life. She shows great leadership, being the new village head and defending the town from monsters with the other villagers.
Growing up in Carne Village and living there all her life, Enri has always lived the life of a simple farmer's daughter. Due to her healthy lifestyle, Enri has grown to be physically fit to the point where she is considered as one of the strongest five in the village.

He greatly enjoys the suffering of others, made clear by his vicious experiments on prisoners. He's in charge of tactics and defenses of Nazarick. Among the Guardians, he gets along the best with Mare, since he understands the more cunning side of the Dark Elf.
