눇Fantastic reception and very comfortable room. 눉Trim milk instead of blue milk눇Happy with lovely service from Lorna 눇Great place for family stays. Room was lovely, very spacious and clean. Didn't need anything else, was all there! 눇Use of bikes, friendly and helpful staff. 눉The knob on the shower door was too close to the stopper. I keep getting my finger caught between the two.눇Comfortable bed, free bikes to explore on, pool facilities, complimentary items e.g. milk, chilled water. Friendly staff and accommodating. 눇Great room for the family. We would stay here again. 눉Nothing at all, it was just right, and a 15 minute walk into the centre of town was right too.눇There was sufficient space for us to spread. The friendliness was wonderful, and all our questions were answered thoroughly. Although 299 is on a very busy road, there is a high wall and a garden between it and our room, so we didnt hear any traffic at night. Our drinks facilities were stocked up each day, and we could come and go as we pleased.

눇Nice decor , underfloor heating, daily servicing , comfortable bed 눉I like my bed and pillows a little bit softer, but that's just a personal preference :) my partner loved the bed and pillows!눇The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Really close the the centre of New Plymouth and not far to walk for food or down to the coastal walkway. The whole apartment was really clean and tidy, with milk and fresh filter water in the fridge. They also had a recycling bin the the kitchen, which was really nice to see! 눇great location, very clean, free bike hire 눉there was only a very small heater and as we are a bit older feel the cold눇We were greeted with a smile and the people were very friendly and very helpful. The location suited us as it was very quiet 눉Watch the weather next time please눇Was everthing we needed for our short sad visit 눇the room absolutely lovely and the beds extremely comfortable. i was very impressed and also how clean it was.

my kids happy with the Guest Select cos they had the channels they wanted. would recommend highly to others. Couldn't fault this establishment, we wanted a coffee and cake and we got that with a huge smile from all staff. ...my entrée was missed being written down and I only knew when my main arrived. I mentioned it and they stood around with my main not knowing what to do with it as it got cold. I said don’t worry I’ll just have the main and then order dessert. I think they have a lot of work to get the... This restaurant on the beautifully restored Devonport wharf promises lots and is struggling to keep up with those promises. On a beautiful summer's night on a long weekend, it wasn't full but the staff wasn't coping. Long waits first for the menus, then for water. The drinks came fast , in beautiful wine glasses but tiny amounts @$14 a glass... 5 stars for the view, the sound of the sea washing in was the best this meal got. The service was friendly but odd, we were left for a long time then a long wait for the first course.

The shared platter was lack luster, whilst the hummus and labneh were outstanding, the taramasalata was a cream cheese mush. We had a inattentive/ semi-rude waiter - slow service, had to get manager to get orders going etc, Little wine in big glasses. Platters unattractive unless you like chips and tomato sauce. Main meals over rated and expensive for what we got - party of 6 - unanimous view. The food was uninspired. There are far better places to eat in Devonport! Venue is perfect - spacious, stylish, comfortable and on the water. No better place in Devonport for an evening drink. Bartender is a perfect fit too. Food is always made to a very high standard, yummy recipes that always have some originality and a Turkish twist, coffee is also excellent. Service is somewhat of a let-down, staff are well-meaning and... Lovely little restaurant on the pier. Turkish food outlet owned by a Turkish man, who was a really guy. We didn't eat, although there was some lovely looking food on offer.

We did enjoy some delicious ice creams though, which I highly recommend. Lovely views from the pier. The atmosphere is very seasidey-greek style, big plants everywhere, blue glasses, big by-the-sea chairs and cushions. It was very nice aesthetically. The orange and almond muffin was good, along with the bulgar and veg salad. Only let down were the beanbags, which looked horrible, all sorts of mysterious stains and scuffs (some looked like blood!). My nephew and I dined this evening at this Turkish restaurant located in the Devonport wharf building - and we'll definitely go back. The starters (calamari for my nephew and hummus and flat breads for me) were good but it was the main dishes that slapped smiles right across our faces. My nephew had the lamb rack and I had...With plans to go and see the Dragon Poi fire show in Devonport, our thoughts turned to where to have dinner beforehand. We’d heard whispers of a brand new opening right on the wharf so it seemed the perfect place to have dinner before the show.

The major selling point of Devon on the Wharf is this fantastic view. Situated right inside the ferry terminal, you are rewarded with stunning views of the Auckland skyline. The decor of the restaurant impressed us immediately. Mint green furnishings combined with white wicker chairs, together with hints of blue immediately transported us to the Mediterranean. The restaurant focuses on Turkish cuisine, with the hardworking owners Alex and Nigar being expats from Turkey. You can’t get much more authentic than that! With tables both inside and outside, we were seated in the outdoor area which had a covered roof and patio heaters. However, it was a rather chilly evening and we found ourselves wishing that the heaters were a little bit stronger! We’re not sure how this will work in the winter but it is a perfect summer retreat. Maybe the restaurant could provide blankets and crank up the heaters a bit more for winter? The restaurant was bustling on a busy Saturday night but service was efficient and knowledgeable.

A long bar is the centrepiece to the restaurant and the colourful glasses draw the eye in even further. The menu helpfully provides a glossary at the front to explain the unfamiliar Turkish words within in detail. The all day breakfast/brunch menu is available from 7am until 3pm and includes everything from porridge with cranberry, pistachio and apple syrup to classics such as eggs benedict and blueberry pancakes. Also on offer are traditional Turkish dishes such as fattoush salad and dolma. The dinner menu is split into small plates and big plates, perfect for sharing. Being so close to the sea we had to sample the seafood offerings. The Seafood Harissa consisted of prawns and scallops sauteed in a harissa sauce and served on top of Turkish bread with a wedge of lemon. The harissa sauce was smoky and sweet with just the right level of stickiness. The scallops and prawns were perfectly cooked, soft and succulent with a little bit of bite. The only suggestion we would give is to maybe toast the Turkish bread?

This would provide some texture and stop the bread going so soggy because of the sauce so quickly. We absolutely couldn’t wait to get stuck into the mezze platters. They were huge and more than enough for two people to share. The meat platter contained beef and sujuk koftes, chicken skewers, lamb cutlets, tzatziki, hummus, bean salad, olives with feta, pickles, turmeric rice and bread. Our favourites on the platter were the koftes and the lamb cutlets. We went for a second platter and ordered the Devon Mezze Platter. This consisted of sigara borek, beetroot hummus, labneh, taramasalata, falafels, grilled halloumi, bean salad, pickled vegetables and Turkish pide. Our favourite item by far was the sigara borek – cheese and potato filo stuffed cigars. The falafel could’ve done with a tad more seasoning but everything else was delicious, including that wonderfully soft Turkish bread. We were too full for dessert but would like to try the Baklava and the Chocolate Plate next time.
