Teen builder Robert4168 decided to recreate one from the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu television show, and in my opinion it looks even more impressive than the dragons featured in the official sets. Unlike most of the builds by designers from Billund, this ship looks truly solid, huge enough to fit a whole squadron of ninjas, and features some cool authentic sails. But the best part is the perfect use of long golden blades along its boards marking off the blue and brown areas. Topped off with an excellent red dragon head, this boat fits in with both the modern Ninjago adventures and the good old Ninja sets of late 90’s.Tell all your friends! One of my favorite parts about January is new LEGO sets coming into stores. I love seeing all the awesome new pieces and new sets. Picking one out is often the hardest part! To help with that, we’re bringing you reviews of some of the new 2017 sets so you can make decisions for your own collection, and last week we looked at 31065 Park Street Townhouse.

See more LEGO Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales & deals We’ve seen a lot of next year’s sets over the past week, but here’s another one: Ninjago. Below are 7 sets from the new lineup, which feature the ninja masters facing off against metallic snake warriors called the Vermillion. As usual there are lots of cool vehicles, dragons, and mechs. See all 7 sets below. 70624 Vermillion Invader, 313 pieces Check out more brand new sets: 2017 Nexo Knights sets BMW R 1200 GS Technic set The world of Ninjago is rife with opportunities for exceptional fan-built LEGO creations, but oddly we don’t see them too often.

One gorgeous exception, however, is this vignette of a small village by jaapxaap. The red oriental structures are highlighted with strands of gold, and the curved roofs are admirably done. This would look right at home next to the terrific Temple of Airjitzu set, which is currently $25 off on Amazon. Following on from the success of The LEGO Movie, Warner Bros have announced both The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago movie. Yesterday, USA Today released a clip of an animated short from the latter, entitled “The Master battles a chicken”. The LEGO Ninjago Movie is due in theaters September 22, 2017, and features a stellar cast including Jackie Chan as Master Wu. The short will play before Storks, due to open in theaters September 23, 2016. Ninjago is one of the most popular LEGO themes, and I can see the appeal — it’s ninjas with elements and hi-tech gadgets. It’s every (big and small) kid’s fantasy. And while I’ve collected many sets from this theme over time, the most current one, Ninjas vs. Sky Pirates, is just a dream come true, and to celebrate that, I decided to build my own Ninjago-inspired mechs!

First, Lloyd’s Modified flyer from the Set 70605 – Misfortune’s Keep. When I first got the set, I knew I was going to like the ship, but I was pleasantly surprised by the concept of the flyer, so I just pimped it — added new arms, a lot more greebling, more attitude, and the name “Fujin”, and called it a day. Our team has already reviewed Zeppelin Raid, Misfortune’s Keep and Tiger Widow Island, which introduced our readers to all the evil characters. Now it’s time to take a look at what good ninjas have to respond with. 70602 Jay’s Elemental Dragon is a medium-sized set of 350 pieces, which includes 2 minifigures and a monkey, and its retail price of $29.99 seems appropriate. Pieces are distributed between 3 bags: the first one contains parts for the flyer and the body of the dragon, the second bag allows building of the dragon’s head, while the third one contains the largest parts which form a pair of wings and a tail.

Surprisingly enough, the instructions are provided in two rather thin booklets, though one medium-sized book would be more convenient to use and to store. Last but not least is a sticker sheet with 14 stickers on it. By now, everyone is familiar with Ninjago’s new Skybound theme. We’ve already reviewed Zeppelin Raid and Misfortune’s Keep and today, we’d like to share our review of 70604 Tiger Widow Island. The set includes 450 pieces, 5 minifigs, and retails for $49.99. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and, except for the tricky chain connection holding up the “teeth” of the cave, the build was relatively straightforward. Click through to read the full review While LEGO builders in many other parts of the world have been enjoying the first quarter LEGO sets since January, LEGO is finally releasing about 45 new sets on March 1st in the US. In addition to the Captain America: Civil War and Elves sets we’ve known were planned for release on March 1st, we finally have the official release in the US of the new Ninjago “Skybound” sets, Star Wars battlepacks, and LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros.

Click through to see more of the March 2016 LEGO sets The LEGO Ninjago theme has had an odd release cycle this year, with sets available outside the US months in advance of the largest market for LEGO, and product details only available at the last minute — LEGO only provided final details of the March 2016 Ninjago sets earlier this week.
