Using the step by step instructions on IFIXIT I was able to replace both the battery and trackpad in just over a half hour. I was apprehensive when I turned the computer back on after such a quick repair, but it booted right up without a pro . . . Battery was well beyond its lifetime causing battery depletion very quickly, underneath the laptop was hot in certain areas unhid d I issues with the trackpad. and made sure I ordered that Y Tool screwdriver. I had the 00 one and went to work. It was super ea . . . Old battery was damaged. Bulging in size and putting pressure into computer frame Simple repair in this model of MacBookPro. Remove back cover screws. Remove battery screws, then the one battery connector and place the new one. Make sure you get or have the tri-point screw driver. Careful with batter . . . The battery in my wife's MacBook pro was starting to swell, pushing the trackpad out making it unusable.

I replaced it with one of those cheap batteries online- a $25 replacement. This cheap battery started to fail at %50 power within 8 months. I replaced this battery with the Nutech battery from ifixit. As good life as I remember from when I first bo . . . My OEM battery was not holding much of a charge. This might have been just old age but I actually believe it was going bad becasue of a cheap non-OEM charger I purchased to save a few dollars. This smaller charger started making a buzzing sound and I was getting headphone line interference. I purcha . . . At 6 years old, my battery life was dwindling. My local Mac Genius bar said, sorry it's too old for us to touch. yet the machine still works perfectly and does everything that I ask of it.
