The truth about sitting.And to relieve the tension in your lower back that causes your sciatica you could try this simple lying down exercise which is nice and relaxing after a day at work:Alexander Technique Exercise: Semi-supineAlso, I'd recommend squatting from time to time, it's normal functional movement but an ability lost through western/modern lifestyles. It's excellent for releasing and opening up the lower back. If squatting is really too hard for you you can take the above lying down exercise and place your bottom close to a wall so you can put your feet flat on the wall. It's like squatting on your back and easier to adjust the depth of the squat to something you can cope with.
