Posted by 5224017981728167268 on Jan 15, 2017 Purchased this in an attempt to ease symptoms of tinnitus: Had noticed that having a hot flush due to menopause would slightly ease the headachey feel of tinnitus, so, recalling the flush obtained from Niacin, decided to embark on course of regular use. I take 100mg twice per day. I enjoy the flush; I know others find it too powerful. Have been taking for about 2 months. Has made no difference to the tinnitus, but the sense of blood rushing to ears obtained during the Niacin flush is....at least a temporary distraction. Niacin was first recommended to me years ago as a way of improving 'good' cholesterol. I'm hoping that my next blood test will show this to be true. Meanwhile I shall continue to enjoy the flush - it's kind of nice to have proof that a supplement is doing something. Does what it should

The only caveat was that it MUST be the type that causes flushing, not the time-release/no-flush variety. Start out with a very small dose, like 50 mg, which will definitely make you flush and itch, then gradually work up to a higher dose as you build up tolerance. This brand is very high-quality and the most I can work up to is 200 mg. With other brands I've gotten up to 500 mgs. Do not take it on an empty stomach unless you want to be beet red with intense itching.
