In a 50-year career filled with adventures in space and time, Doctor Who has appeared in many different guises — 13 of them, in fact, including Peter Capaldi’s eyebrow-centric current incarnation. Later this year, the Time Lord will regenerate into his most unexpected form yet: a Lego minifigure. BBC Worldwide and the Lego Group announced Wednesday that a Lego set based on the long-running British sci-fi show will be launched later this year, following the success of a pitch on the fan-driven Lego Ideas website. Fan Andrew Clark’s suggestion of a Doctor Who set received 10,000 votes from fellow Lego enthusiasts, leading to today’s announcement, made via Lego’s YouTube channel. Details of what the set will contain are still being kept under wraps, with Marcus Arthur, the managing director of BBC Worldwide U.K., saying in an accompanying statement that he “can’t wait to see what Lego produce” for the set, scheduled for release internationally before the end of the year.

Announced at the same time as the Doctor Who set was a Wall-E set, based on the Pixar movie, originally submitted to Lego Ideas by Angus MacLane, an animator who actually worked on the original movie. That includes the iconic Millennium Falcon, the special forces TIE fighter, the X-Wing fighter and the First Order Snowspeeder. The Millennium Falcon features a detachable cockpit with space for two toy figures. Inside the hull there's a wide seating area, secret compartments and storage for tools. It also comes with seven toy characters -- Rey, Finn, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Tasu Leech and a Kanjiklub Gang Member, plus a BB-8 droid. The X-Wing Starfighter has retractable landing gear with opening wings and an access ladder, while the TIE fighter features a rotating antenna.

Both come with four toy figures. The sets are priced from $79.99 to $149.99. There’s been talk about the possibility of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) reaching new heights in Civil War, in a literal sense. The scuttlebutt has been that Scott Lang would mimic the career path of the original comic book Ant-Man, Hank Pym, by graduating up to Giant-Man is his second cinematic appearance. A photo of a catalogue featuring Civil War Lego sets seems to have confirmed this transition, as it features an appropriately sized Giant-Man not-so-minifigure.

We’ve labeled this as a spoiler because it hasn’t been officially revealed just yet, but if Giant-Man appears in this Lego catalogue, then Marvel Studios probably doesn’t have any plans to try to keep the big moment under wraps until theatrical release. The transformation was likely omitted from the first trailer because the special effects aren’t complete, and because Marvel wanted to keep a surprise in their pocket for future reveals, but I wouldn’t at all be surprised to find a shot of Giant-Man included in the next trailer for the film. 's Movie Release Schedule.Eight LEGO Star Wars sets scheduled for release in 2016 have leaked from Eurobricks, and one of which is most likely tied to The Force Awakens… BrickSaber15 from Reddit lists the following names corresponding to the images in question: The sixth, unnamed LEGO set, which seems to be tied to The Force Awakens itself, does not include anything particularly spoileriffic; however, there’s what appears to be a familiar face among the minifigures present.

For those who are faint of heart regarding spoilers, the image – and commentary on it – will be saved for last out of courtesy. (Everything else is in order.) The two “Battle Packs” seem to be based on Battlefront characters, while everything else is either based on the movies or on Rebels. And last, but not least, here’s the set for what appears to be a new ship from The Force Awakens: So it appears that we have what appears to be the successor to the B-wing in this particular image. The pilot near the edge of the photo look like Hasbro’s Resistance pilot action figure, which is one of three key reasons why I think this is a tie-in to the movie. Another reason is that the alien in this picture looks like Admiral Ackbar, and the last reason is the lady in the middle – who looks like a dead ringer for General Leia, if the behind-the-scenes reel from a few months ago is of any indication. Special thanks to The Cantina user Lego Han for the tip. Stay tuned to Star Wars News Net for more on the latest updates in Star Wars media.

Toy Fair is ever the weird, wild affair, and 2015 is no different. Thousands of industry folks descended on the Javits Center in New York City this weekend to show of the coming year's big toys. As usual, Lego managed to stand out with its ware, but this year is a little bit different for the block company. Unlike recent years, when fans couldn't expect boatloads of nostalgic homages to the likes of Ghostbusters or The Simpsons. Instead, many of Lego's wares were tailor made for the upcoming blockbuster season. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The set for Jurassic World caught our eye since it shows off the elusive über-dinosaur Indominus rex in all its glory, but the entire set includes the requisite velociraptors and Chris Pratt figures. Elsewhere, we saw sets for Avengers: Age of Ultron, complete with Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor, as well as a set for Ant-Man, which featured scaled-up versions of the Lego bricks for his miniaturized self alongside the normal ones.
