After gathering the required number of supporters (10,000) on LEGO's Ideas website and passing the company's evaluation, LEGO has officially announced an upcoming 'Women Of NASA' set. The final design has yet to be decided, but will include minifigs of Margaret Hamilton (designed on-board flight software for the Apollo moon missions), Katherine Johnson (mathematician and physicist with incredible accuracy in computerized celestial navigation, whose story is told in Hidden Figures), Sally Ride (first American woman in space), Nancy Grace Roman (astronomer, one of the first female executives at NASA, helped plan Hubble Space telescope) and Mae Jemison (first African-American woman in space). Beautiful, I hope they come with a diorama of the moon so they can all sit back and appreciate their accomplishments from the lunar surface. Thank you, ladies, for daring to dream the dream of space. Keep going for a couple shots of the originally proposed sets. Thanks to Stephanie B, ash and n0nentity, who agree if these women were in charge we'd probably already have a base on the moon.

So it shouldn't be any problem for fans to imagine time-travel adventures using a Lego TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space). The Lego group will release this "Doctor Who" set at some point in December. "Lego Ideas 'Doctor Who' set will be available starting December!" the company wrote on Google+ and Facebook on Oct. 6. "Construct a stunningly detailed Lego version of the iconic TARDIS and role-play the Doctor's time-travel adventures!" [How Time Travel Works in Sc-Fi (Infographic)] A MONTHLY BOX OF GEEK & GAMER GEAR This month's crate has an exclusive t-shirt and an exclusive Funko POP!

There are two more exclusives, too. It's definitely a good time to be a Loot Crate Subscriber! The "Doctor Who" LEGO set appears to include at least two of the Doctors, two Daleks (enemies of the Doctor), at least one of the companions who travels with the Doctor, a weeping angel and the sonic screwdriver (a multifunctional tool the Doctor uses to solve problems in all sorts of situations). The company did not release a retail price for the set or availability details. The ninth series of the current iteration of "Doctor Who" began last month. "Doctor Who" has been running for most of the past 50 years; one of its distinguishing features is that every time the lead actor is ready to relinquish the role, the Doctor in the show dies and is resurrected as a new Doctor, who is played by the new lead actor. We're also on Facebook and Google+.  LEGO has revealed three new sets based on The LEGO Batman Movie, which will be released globally in 2017. Revealed on LEGO's Facebook page, the first set includes the Batcave, four variations of Batman, Bruce Wayne in a tuxedo, Alfred, Penguin, Batman's "Riptide" boat, and a duck-shaped vehicle labeled "duck and cover."

The Arkham Asylum set, meanwhile, appears to be the largest of the three. This set includes the asylum, Batman, Robin, police officers, and a handful of notable villains — The Joker, Dr. Quinzel, Two-Face, and more. Note the Two-Face figure appears to be based on Billy Dee Williams' portrayal of Harvey Dent in Batman (1989). The set also includes a police cruiser, security screening station, and plenty of accessories. Rounding out the list of new reveals is a smaller set focused on Mr. Freeze. The highlights of this set are Mr. Freeze himself, Freeze's Robotic suit, and a flamethrower-wielding Batman. The LEGO Batman Movie is expected to hit theaters February 10, 2017. In fact, many of the current Rogue One sets are already on sale!

This new wave of sets should make its debut early next year (if not sooner), and includes some classic vehicles fans will recognize from the original trilogy, such as the Y-Wing Starfighter. There’s also a new wave of chibi microfighters for young and old fans alike to swoosh about, as well as more large buildable-action figures.
