New Star Wars LEGO set shows us Takodana, Leia’s ship, and Kylo under the mask! These LEGO sets are considered what some might deem to be “spoilers” (albeit very minor ones we’ve seen on TV and in magazines before). showing more of the Takodana-centric sets. The cool thing is it seems to confirm that Kylo Ren’s face is indeed “normal” under the mask. It also shows off the rest of the ship that we’ve seen Finn walking up to in the TV spots and it is indeed Leia’s B-wing-type ship. These sets are pretty cool. I like the ones that have a lot of figures as it gives me and my son something to play with while I “help” him put the sets together. I think that’s the best part of the LEGO merchandise is that you can make it a family project. Once Luke and Penny get a little bigger, I think we’ll start throwing down on the huge sets. ← Previous Story New The Force Awakens behind-the-scenes TV Spot about Rey! November is an important month for LEGO fans because this is when the official holiday shopping season begins with various perks and incentives directly from LEGO, as well as from other LEGO retailers. Today we will look at the LEGO Store Calendar to see what LEGO has to offer, and then during the month we will also look at other shopping options. ➡ FREE LEGO CREATOR HOLIDAY SETS: The first seasonal set with the #40138 LEGO Creator Holiday Train started last month, and will continue until November 13th. You can get the set with any purchase of $99 or more. The second seasonal set is the #40139 LEGO Creator Gingerbread House, that will be available during the Brick Friday weekend from November 27th, with any purchase of $99 or more. These those sets are always the highlight of the season, and this year they are particularly sweet. They also go really well with the LEGO Winter Village sets. ➡ FREE LEGO WALL CALENDAR: Besides the above mentioned specials, from November 15 to December 24th you can also get a free exclusive 2016 LEGO Wall Calendar with purchase of $75 or more – while supplies last. T

hese calendars are a nice gift for LEGO fans, and usually include special coupons that you can redeem next year. ➡ LEGO HOLIDAY SETS: If you haven’t gotten this year’s holiday sets yet, I strongly recommend that you do so as soon as possible because they always sell out long before Christmas. This includes the #10249 LEGO Creator Winter Toy Shop, and last year’s #10245 LEGO Santa’s Workshop. Also, you may consider the LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Friends Advent Calendars, as they are a really fun way to count down for Christmas. You can find them under the seasonal section of the Online LEGO Shop. ➡ BRICK FRIDAY SALES: The day after Thanksgiving is the official beginning of the holiday shopping madness with many retailers offering special sales (November 27th-29th). LEGO calls this weekend Brick Friday instead of Black Friday, and this is when the second seasonal set will be available, as we discussed above. There are no details on what these special offers are going to be, but it is usually select LEGO sets on sale, and possibly double or even triple VIP points on some sets. I

n addition, there will be early holiday offers for LEGO VIP members on November 21st. So to summarize, make sure you get the holiday related sets (like the LEGO Advent Calendars and LEGO Winter Village sets) as soon as possible at your local LEGO store or the Online LEGO Shop. For other sets you may want to wait until Brick Friday for special offers and the second free holiday set. What do you think? Are you planning to do some LEGO shopping this month? In all, LEGO has announced that 32 new sets will be coming to their Star Wars collection – and that’s just so far. There may well be more up their sleeve. According to LEGO, “the 2015 LEGO Star Wars collection is one of the largest and most diverse since its launch in 1999.” Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group spoke up this week on the 2015 series. “For more than 15 years,” said Wilfert, “children and kids at heart have told and retold the Star Wars story through LEGO brick play and this year we will give them even more characters and elements to recreate the epic saga – including several sets with which to add Star Wars: The Force Awakens to their building adventures.” NOTE: For those of you looking for NEW images of LEGO sets appearing at the NYC toy show event this week – stay tuned. “As we all eagerly anticipate Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiering in December,” said Wilvert, “2015 gives LEGO Star Wars fans a chance to build and play based on all of the existing Star Wars stories.”
