Profits weren't only reaped at the box office, but on store shelves. Lego released “The Lego Movie” sets around the movie’s 2014 launch, which were among the company’s top five most profitable series that year (others included Lego Star Wars and Lego Super Heroes). The movie also ignited new interest in Lego building, boosting overall sales of Lego products. Anticipation is high for “The Lego Batman Movie,” opening Feb. 10.

Lego is releasing 18 toy sets tied to the movie, including “The Ultimate Batmobile,” which MarketWatch is exclusively revealing. The “Ultimate Batmobile” set will be released on June 1 with a retail price of $129.99, Lego says. The set includes eight minifigures of “Lego Batman” characters — Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Polka-Dot Man on a flying disc, Alfred Pennyworth (in Batsuit), Wicked Witch of the West and two Flying Monkeys. The Batmobile divides into four different vehicles — the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank and Batcycle — and there is a rotating Bat-Signal with a Lego light brick. The Batmobile measures 4 inches high, 14 inches long and 6 inches wide. The feature has been moved up to the February 10 slot, which the studio had set aside for an untitled film. The Lego Ninjago spinoff has been moved back to September 22, 2017, domestically, with international dates to follow. The Lego Movie Sequel will open May 18, 2018, a week earlier than originally slated.

If that February date sounds familiar, that’s the weekend Warner Bros opened the first Lego Movie last year — February 7, to be exact — and scored a whopping $69M debut. It then went onto gross a domestic haul of $257.7M and another $211M internationally to bring its total worldwide cume to $468.7M. No wonder they are doing a number of spinoffs. The Lego Movie Sequel has its new weekend to itself for now. The Lego Batman flick will go up against Fox’s The Mountain Between Us, starring Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike. And Ninjago‘s lone competition that weekend is an untitled Sony movie. The studio announced the sequel and spinoffs in October. “We are very excited about dating our upcoming LEGO animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film,” said Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution at Warners. “These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”

Subscribe to Deadline Breaking News Alerts and keep your inbox happyAt the recent San Diego Comic Con it was announced that there will be a third wave of The LEGO Movie sets coming out in January 2015. There was one set on display; the #70817 LEGO Movie Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack; Unikitty fans are going to be very happy with having another variation of their favorite feisty little character. lthough this is still just a speculation, this new set might be the LEGO Master Builder Submarine, which was built by several of the main characters from The LEGO Movie – including Vitruvius, Benny, Batman, Wyldstyle, Unikitty and Emmet – while they were being chased by Bad Cop. The submarine is a mash-up of their different styles of building and it looks totally crazy and awesome. I have heard from a lot of LEGO fans who would be very happy with the submarine made into a LEGO set. I would too, although I’m really not sure if it will actually happen. The original submarine created in LEGO Digital Designer for the movie is quite large and part-dense, so it is going to have to be an expensive set. I

t also doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of play-features. As you can see from The LEGO Movie clip below, it was basically built hastily, then dove into the water. There is a little bit of the interior showing with the double-decker couch, but that’s about it. Then, another possibility LEGO fans talk about is a LEGO Batman Batwing. This is also a quite large vehicle in the movie, but I could see it being made into a LEGO set. There is lots of swoosh-ability with the Batwing that would make both kids and adults happy. Below is a wonderful and movie-accurate version of the Batwing, painstakingly built by LEGO fan Stefan Edlinger (Brickmasta) using clips from The LEGO Movie as reference. Stefan also made full PDF instruction available for sale on his website, in case you want to build your own. See here: LEGO Batwing Instructions PDF At this point this is all that’s known about The LEGO Movie sets scheduled for the beginning of 2015. How many sets will be released in total is not known as of yet, but I’m sure we will hear more before the end of the year. I
