While LEGO Dimensions has focused on swallowing up every pop-culture franchise it can get its hands on, LEGO Worlds has taken a different approach to the brick-building world: that is to say, actual brick-building. LEGO Worlds drops you in a procedurally generated LEGO world and lets players build and customize however they want; just don’t call it a clone of Minecraft. The game has been available on Steam Early Access since last year, but the final product will have a variety of missions like retrieving a king’s sword and fending off a horde of zombies with a farmer. You’ll also be able to play online cooperatively and competitively. Jonathan Smith, Head of Production at developer TT Games, said in a press release: In LEGO Worlds, players will go on an exciting journey to become a Master Builder, in an open-world made completely of LEGO-built environments. Whether customizing characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there’s the freedom to create anything imaginable.

Interactive Entertainment, said: LEGO Worlds expands our LEGO videogame franchise with a new experience that embodies all the fun of physical LEGO brick building. TT Games has created an expansive, digital universe that combines unlimited creativity with the LEGO humor that fans love. We believe LEGO Worlds has the potential to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through its experience of open-ended creative play. players will get a timed exclusive with the LEGO Agents DLC pack, which includes characters, vehicles, weapons and more from LEGO’s spy-themed line of sets. LEGO Worlds comes out on Feb. 21, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.

The Nintendo Switch has finally had its big press conference and now we know we’ll be playing at home and on-the-go from March 3 2017. And when we say "on-the-go" we mean on-the-go: It's come to light that some Nintendo Switch games will only be available to play in handheld mode, i.e. no TV mode support. (The game that's stuck on the touch-pad is called Voez, and it's only available in Japan, though it sets a bad precedence.)Minor gripes aside, we're excited about the games we'll be buying at launch and beyond. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Release Date: March 3It’s the launch title we were all hoping for. Link is back in an open world adventure that looks stunning. The game will be available in a standard and special edition, both of which are now available for preorder at UK retailer Game who are charging £59.99 for the standard edition and £89.99 for the special edition. The standard edition is at its cheapest, however, on Amazon UK where it's £48, with Prime users having the chance to get a further £2 discount. The game will have players take one Joy-Con controller each and allow them to play a host of of fun games. The example shown by Nintendo was a dueling scenario, where players would use their Joy-Con controllers as guns and see who has the fastest fingers. We all know what to expect from Just Dance games at this point and this one will be no different. Expect bright pop and the option to dance at home or on the move with the help of your motion-detecting Joy-Con controllers. Release Date: Spring 2017Arms is an interesting looking game that will make full use of the motion-control sensors of the Joy-Con controllers in a way that’s reminiscent of Wii Sports boxing. The game features a bunch of wacky, colorful cartoonish characters you’ll be able to fight with and against in a full 3D arena. Arms is available for preorder from Amazon UK for £49.99 and from Amazon US for $59.99.Watch the trailer below: Release Date: Summer 2017Pain-based shooter Splatoon was a big hit on the Wii U and now its sequel is coming to the Switch. Splatoon 2 will have all new modes, weapons, and stages. There’ll be online and local multiplayer modes and you’ll be able to play on your home TV or on the go. Release Date: 3 March 2017This port of Square Enix’s popular RPG that’s already available on PC and PlayStation has been confirmed as a global launch title for the Switch which will be available for download on day of release. Snipperclips: Cut it Out, Together! Release Date: March 3, 2017This will be a title exclusive to Nintendo’s eShop but Snipperclips: Cut it Out, Together! Appears to be a visually adorable game that has players work together to cut paper characters into new shapes to solve dynamic puzzles. Release Date: 2017We don’t know much about this new FIFA title but according to EA Sports’ Patrick Soderlund, it’ll take advantage of the social aspect of the Switch. It doesn’t have a release date other than later this year, but it’s already available for preorder from Game UK for £59.99 and $59.99 from Amazon US. Release Date: September 2017It’s great to see Nintendo making room for more sports titles on the Switch. NBA 2K18 will allow players to create their own player and start a journey in career mode, as well as build their own team to lead to the top of the league and face off against other players from around the world.
