Mozyr

Should you happen to be in this town, do visit Archangel Michael Cathedral. It is the main church of the Russian Orthodox Turov diocese. One of Belarus's most unusual religious buildings, St. Nicholas Church, is also here. It was built in the times of militant atheism and has the form of a weapon lock. On the other hand, the Roman Catholic Archangel Michael Church is a monument of late Baroque architecture. It used to have a girls' school where arithmetics, Latin, French, music and hygiene were taught.
Walking and trekking lovers should visit the Mozyr ravines. The slopes here are up to 30 degrees steep, and the gullies up to 40 meters deep. Soviet Directors even came here to record the birds singing. There are 53 species of birds in this natural reserve, some of them protected.
