This is most likely due to: An outdated link on another site A typo in the address / URLDo you have an existing medical problem that causes you to have uncomfortable nights’ sleep? Or do you have a mattress but now find it’s a bit too firm or uncomfortable for your liking? If you answered “Yes” to either of these scenarios, then a memory foam mattress topper may be for you. Here at Hypnia, we want our customers to select the correct product that suit their needs, so if you are looking to buy a new topper, but are unsure of what depth to go for, read on as we explain the various benefits of each depth.

A 1 inch depth topper might not sound much, but if you a particularly firm mattress, this little gem will work wonders and will soften your sleeping experience by quite an unexpected degree.  If you happen to have a campervan/motorhome or caravan, a 1 inch topper will come into its own as it will enable you to have a comfortable night but if you have to sleep on multiple cushions, the topper will stop them from moving in the night and prevent you from falling through the middle. Similarly to the 1 inch topper, the 2 inch can be used when out and about in a camper/caravan as this is also easily rolled and stored away.  If you are looking to use this in home setting; we would recommend a 2 inch if you have a new or older mattress that is still in good condition but you no longer find it comfortable or if you have a very minor back issue. Moving away from the portable depths of topper, the 3 inch is primarily suited to stay in situ on your mattress at home as this would be rather difficult to roll up and store away.

We usually advise customers who come to us with various chronic back problems to consider this depth. We have found that 3 inches of memory foam is the optimum amount to help alleviate any existing back issues and have repeatedly received good feedback from customers who have bought this depth. Also the 3 inch depth provides a comfortable sleeping surface whilst offering you the much needed support your body requires. The 4 inch is as far as we go here at Hypnia. Not usually recommended to individuals who are looking for an extra bit of comfort as you may find this way too much and this could actually cause you have back ache due to the amount of memory foam and the subsequent soft feeling that this would give. This depth is aimed at the few people who have a specific and often medical based need and if you are unsure, we would always recommend consulting your GP before placing an order with us. We hope this has shed some light on the benefits of each depth of Memory Foam Toppers that we offer here at Hypnia.

Caravan Memory Foam specialise in manufacturing bespoke memory foam products for places where a standard memory foam mattress simply wouldn’t fit such as a caravan, motorhome or boat. The benefits of using memory foam in your caravan, motorhome or boat If you have used a memory foam mattress in your home then you will know how memory foam can benefit you. A memory foam mattress works differently from regular mattresses by reducing pressure point and by offering a soft personal level of comfort while you sleep. Memory foam can do this because it of the properties of the material. Memory foam warms and softens with your body heat. The memory foam warms more where there is higher pressure and therefore softens where the pressure is highest. This means that pain is minimised on your pressure points while the mattress still remains supportive where you need it. You might have heard some doctors recommend firm mattresses for back pain. This is because a firm mattress can offer support.

Well a memory foam mattress can offer this support while remaining comfortable where you need it. It simply is the best of both worlds. A memory foam mattress simply offers an excellent night’s sleep and we believe that this doesn’t need to stay in your bedroom. Get a great night’s sleep in your caravan, motorhome or boat. Why choose Caravan Memory Foam? The staff at Caravan Memory Foam have a wealth of experience within the bed and mattress trade. Our team of directors saw early on that memory foam was the future of mattress technology and wanted to offer the benefits of the product to as many people as possible. We first did this through Zleeps, a site specialising in selling quality, British made memory foam mattresses, toppers and pillows direct to the public from the factory. By cutting out the middleman and minimising overheads we successfully managed to push the price of memory foam down without sacrificing the quality that makes memory foam so special.

Later we employed Geoff, a caravan enthusiast, who enquired about getting a custom cut mattress for his caravan. We knew we could cut a mattress to his requirements – we have done so before for non-standard shaped beds – but we hadn’t really thought about offering them to people with caravans. We researched the area and found that while the number of caravans with different shaped beds was huge, it wasn’t impossible to list and catalogue the sizes that people might require. We are currently putting the finishing touches to our site to ensure that it is easy to use and free from any errors. But please check back soon Caravans – A personal recollection From researching the industry for the last few months we have discovered that people who use caravans are very passionate about their hobby. Personally I haven’t been caravanning since the age of about 15, but have fond memories of travelling to Dover, the ferry ride to Calais, and the hours of ‘Route Nationale’ on the way to the south of France.

We perhaps twenty hours in the car wasn’t that much fun, but it was fun when we arrived. Campsites are great fun for kids of all ages. There is usually loads to do; from mini golf and swimming for the younger kids, to Discotheque and French wine for the older ones. Your kids will meet so many others their own age. And it’s great for the parents. As I say I haven’t been caravanning since my teens but I can remember my parents and aunty and uncle meeting lots of other ‘oldies’ for BBQ and drinks. Perhaps the most surreal situation of my caravanning youth was meeting the ex-chairman of the Swift Group. I think he was the ex-chairman of the Swift Group. Anyway, my parents myself and my sister were parked up at a service station with our little Sprite caravan and he introduced himself and said that our model was one of the first they developed! He had a huge caravan which made ours look a bit poor. As we have seen caravanning is a way of life for some. Never mind what Jeremy Clarkson might say on Top Gear, it can be a whole load of fun.

But there is a lot of history behind the hobby. The History of Caravans The word ‘caravan’ comes from the Persian ‘karwan’ and it is where the word van comes from. It is hard to put a date on when the first caravan came about. You see the caravan wasn’t invented. Somebody didn’t just think one day ‘Hmm, wouldn’t it be good if…’. Rather caravans gradually developed from horse drawn trailers. Marco Polo is a famous early adopter of the caravan using them to traverse the deserts of the middle east to reach India and China in the 13th century. Caravans are also mentioned in a Charles Dickens novel. They didn’t become a leisure pursuit until the beginning of the 20th century. Initially caravanning was the pursuit of the wealthy with places like Harrods hiring them out. These days there are around a million caravans in the UK with over two million people taking caravan holidays each year. 330,000 caravan holiday homes ...a couple of million British people take caravan holidays every year (the Caravan Club alone has 850,000 members).

In 2004, nearly one in five (18.8%) of adults whose last holiday was in the UK took a caravan holiday. And if all the touring caravans in Britain were put end to end, they would stretch from Land’s end to John O’Groats three times (3,000 miles). Caravan parks vary from huge centers with on-site entertainment, leisure centers and multi-sports courts to tiny Certificated Locations (CLs) where there may only be running water and a stunning view. When you ask caravaners what they like about it, they say that it is the freedom and meeting similar minded people that attracts them. Caravan Makes and Models There are quite a few caravan makes and models available in the UK. And the best thing is Caravan Memory Foam mattress have researched all these makes and models and can offer you a custom cut memory foam mattress for any of them.
