Here's the best mattresses under $500 for memory foam lovers. I've found the best cheap Tempurpedic alternatives on Amazon:Each of these has thousands of reviews which I’ve read and summarized here for you. It’s what I do when I buy. And it's ok if you cheat a bit and read this to save yourself a LOT of time researching. You'll probably have to pay a minimum of $300 for a quality queen bed. If that's not possible then you should invest in a good memory foam mattress topper to cover up that old inner spring bed or to 'condition' a too hard bed. What the manufacturer says on the Amazon bullet point description and what the buyers say differs just a bit. But in spite of that you’ve got a 72% chance of absolutely loving this one. That's the percentage of people who bought it and think it's great. So what do the buyers say? They say that this is a firm bed (not a medium feel). And most of the people who were extremely happy were back and side sleepers. If you sleep on your stomach you might want to keep looking.

The most common positive comment was some variation on “I can’t believe what a great deal this was!” The Shiloh is a quarter the cost of a comparable model that you’d find in many mattress stores.  If you got a 12 inch Sleep Innovations bed before 2013 and are getting another because you need it for a guest bedroom you may want to purchase the 10 inch model instead. This 12 inch high bed now comes with 2 inches of memory foam on top rather than 2.5 Inches as it used to have.  For more, including sales price history and the biggest complaints about this member of the best mattresses under 500 club, Click HERE. Want your purchase to be good for everyday use?  Something that will ease back and joint pain and give you a better night’s rest for a whole less money? Then pick this bed. With more than four thousand buyer comments on Amazon this bed is arguably the most popular memory foam mattress that you’ll find there.  Almost 70% of buyers that purchased the Memoir gave it a top 5 star review.

Like the Sleep Innovations 12 inch bed, this one was also praised for being a good value for the money.  In fact, over 25% of all the top ratings mentioned it as being a best buy. This Signature Sleep bed is not quite as firm as the Shiloh, and fewer couples mentioned needing a mattress topper to make one of them happy.  It has a 3.5” layer of 4 pound memory foam, which gives it the classic memory foam melting-into-the-mattress feel. Back and side sleepers also really like this bed. With stomach sleepers being much more inclined to complain of stiffness in the morning.Speaking of grumbling, if you want to know why some people don’t like this bed or want to know what a good deal on this bed would be? Click HERE for the full review to find out what makes the Sleep Signature Memoir one of the best mattresses under 500. Out of 3,521 buyer reviews, 72% of them gave this bed the highest rating possible. The three layered bed has a rather plush initial feel because the top three inches is made of fluffy 3 pound density memory foam.

There’s another 2 inch layer of comfort foam before you encounter the 5 inch high density base foam support layer.56% of commenters stated that this mattress was either ‘firm’ or ‘firm but conforming’. And the manufacturer’s rep answering questions said that it was designed to be about a 4 on a scale where 1 is floor hard and 10 is marshmallow soft. It was designed for people who favor their backs/sides at night. Many parents also feel that it’s a good choice for a child’s bedroom. But please, please wait until they’re at least 2 years old and can roll over and move easily while sleeping. Find out what people’s biggest complaints are and what’s a good price to pay for this bed Click HERE.I hope that I've made your bargain bed hunting easier with my short list of memory foam beds that should be on anyone's list of best mattresses under $500 dollars. Memory Foam Mattress HomeI received a free GhostBed to review. GhostBed wasn’t the first on the scene in the mattress in a box space but being first doesn’t always mean being the best.

Often, the first one out of the gate becomes the benchmark to rise above, and that’s just what GhostBed has done. Ordering the GhostBed is just as simple and straight forward as the other mattresses in a box that I have ordered. What makes them unique is that you can also add a box spring foundation for an extra $200 and have it shipped along with your mattress. My mom needed a new bed for her guest room. The bed she currently has in there is over 30 years old and so is the box spring! So both had to be replaced. I ordered a full size mattress and box spring. The mattress will come in a box that looks like this. The foundation came in a box like below. It is actually twice as long as what you can see but I wanted to focus on the labeling. The GhostBed comes compressed and wrapped in plastic like the other bed in a box brands. What made this unboxing different was that the mattress was left out in my front porch in 20 degree weather for a few days so it was basically frozen.

Memory foam can get hard in extreme temperatures so this did  not come into shape as quickly as it would have if it were at room temperature but it did come to full shape about 2 hours later. I put together the box spring with a philips screwdriver. I didn’t have a drill at my mom’s house so this was all done by hand. It took about an hour but just goes to show that it can be done. The slats stay connected with a piece of cloth stapled to them to ensure adequate spacing. You also get a cover for your box spring that matches your mattress. The GhostBed comes in at 11 inches high while many others come in at 10 inches and you can feel the difference. The GhostBed just feels more substantial and and doesn’t bottom out like a cheaper mattress can. Both of these mattresses have a top layer of latex. Below is the inside of the GhostBed. Like most of the mattresses I have reviewed there are 3 layers. The base layer is 7.5 inches, followed by a 2 inch gel memory foam layer that helps with cooling and finally the 1.5 latex foam top.

Here’s how the layers of the GhostBed react You’ll also get a little bounce with this mattress. The GhostBed offers great support but also sinks a little more than some of the latex/foam mattresses I have tested which helps with pressure relief. The accelerometer reading below shows that the bed will have some residual bounce/motion. More than other mattresses I have tested which makes it better bouncing around! The GhostBed is a solid choice for people who want some bounce in their mattress but also want the advantages of a memory foam bed. The Ghost Bed will keep you cool too. The combination of cooling gel foam below ventilated latex is a nice touch.  It comes with a 101 night trial so you can get a full refund if not completely satisfied. Lately, I have been asked how the GhostBed compares to the Lull mattress. The biggest difference is that the GhostBed uses a top latex layer whereas the Lull does not. The Lull will conform a little more given it has a dense top foam layer but you will lose bounce.
