This is 6 inches under in width. from North York, ON I received a horribly deformed, wrinkled, and discoloured mattress topper. I let the mattress air out for over 48 hours and it never fully rose to it's shape. It was filled with wrinkles and was yellow in certain areas. I just received my mattress topper today, and found out it is 5 inches narrower than a double should be (it is 49" wide as opposed to standard double which is 54").
A customer would assume this is double size, as it says "double" right in the title of the product. I'm a little disappointed, but not enough to return it. It's still very comfy and everything else was perfectly fine. It showed up in record time, the day after I ordered it. But I'm only giving it 3 stars because the size is a pretty big oversight and false advertisement. Since I'm the only one using my bed, it doesn't really affect me, but if 2 people were using it, I think they'd notice there are 2.5" missing off each side. Takes longer than specified to get to a normal shape, but it doesn't have any smell, which is great for memory foam. Worth the price and very nice! Bought this for my son's bed at his college residence in Kitchener. He likes it a lot as the residences matresses were hard. The matress topper worked well and reminded my son of his own bed at home (a memory foam matress) and it was soft and comfortable. Very happy with the product. Rating: High to Low

Some people just prefer to buy American made products. Also, the manufacturing controls in American memory foam factories are more stringent than those overseas. However, with the CertiPURE.US certification I would not be too concerned. It is recommended that you place your new memory foam mattress on a solid flat wood frame. You shouldn’t use a steel frame. The flat wooden frame will provide better support and your mattress should last longer. If you do not sleep alone, and your partner moves a great deal and this bothers you, you will find that their movement is not nearly as noticeable. You will also find that you move less as well because there are fewer pressure points. There have been a few customers that reported lumps, uneven mattresses or odor that lingered well beyond the average few days time.
