"Metal bed frame is big person approved!" - By Other than the fact that Fedex completely was slow at delivering this product, it arrived undamaged with everything intact. The box arrived with the word "Team Lift" on it. My Team of One (me) was able to wrestle this queen model box into the garage by dragging it, but then I had to open it and take the individual parts into the house. (The Fedex guy dragged it from his truck to our door, so I was not embarrassed I couldn't lift it...) Not a big problem, just a little extra work. The only way you can foul this up is probably by not having the pieces marked "This side up," turned up (this is the voice of experience...). If you have a 1/2 inch ratchet (preferably deep socket), assembly will go much faster. I used a drill to install the screws but had to be careful not to over-torque. The wood is soft. This one had the highest percentage of rank =5, and the lowest perscent rank =4, which was important to me. And I did not see any complaints about legs breaking, and only a few about slats cracking. Suggest you examine slats for any cracks before installing. Have company send replacement if needed.Frame is a lot stronger than others in this category of bed frame. Probably why it weighs more. Wood slats are thicker than other frames also, and that reduces odds of a slat splitting. Also, no noise at all when laying down or turning in the bed. Velcro strips hold the wood slats down to the bed frame, to keep them from sliding and creating a gap that could cause the mattress to sag. It does stink when you first get it, foam / new car smell but it is dissipating quickly.If you are not used to memory foam mattress, try it out in a store first; they are very different compared to inner spring mattress.
