The runner up robot was The Goat, built and programmed by Riley Hewson, Mason Tome and Tyler Andreson. The champion robot, in both the one-on-one contest and the four-robot death matches, was The Snowplow, built and programmed by William Haas, Anthony Correa and Henry Morris-Wood.  Congratulations and great job to all of the participants. The Harlem Superstars Basketball Team will be taking on the BHS Faculty/Student All-Stars. The big event takes place on March 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the BHS Gymnasium. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Tickets are available to pre-order in the Main Office. Please make checks payable to the BHS Class of 2017. Don’t forget to come to the Husky Howl TONIGHT. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the talent portion will begin at 7:00. Admission is $5.00 to benefit the BJHS Music Boosters. Raffle tickets will be sold all week in the front office, or they can be purchased at the event for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. After school Floor Hockey Intramurals have begun. Floor Hockey will run from 2:30-4 pm Monday-Thursday each week for the following dates: 2-27, 2-28, 3-1, 3-2, 3-6, 3-7, 3-8, 3-9, 3-13, 3-14, 3-15, and 3-16. All students are expected to arrange for a ride at 4pm. All 6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome to play. Please bring your PE clothes and sneakers. The winter sports teams are wrapping up and planning for the spring season is well under way.  The athletic department is working on schedules, hiring coaches, and ordering equipment.




BJHS offers in the spring for 7th and 8th graders: Track, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Baseball and Softball. BJHS offers in the spring for 6th graders: Track, other sports/activities for this age level are offered through local youth organizations (such as Brunswick Youth Lacrosse, Cal Ripken and the recreation department).   BJHS Track and Field is a no-cut sport and open to all 6th-8th graders. The BJHS track team usually has over 100 participants and we strongly encourage students to give it a try. For more information about spring sports, see the link under spring sports on our athletics webpage. Sign ups for spring sports were before break.  7th and 8th grade students have until March 6th to see Mrs. Sharpe to get on a list (baseball, softball, and lacrosse). Track sign ups will be on March 9th with Coach Dearing. Specific team information will be available the week of March 6th.  Teams will begin indoor training and conditioning the week of March 20 or 27.




As of today, there are a few spots left for the (grade 7/8) March hitting clinics for baseball and softball.  FMI about these look at the flyer under spring sports.  Seacoast United, located at the dome in Topsham, is running a lacrosse program to get a jump on the season.
