We used to imagine offices as special rooms for working. There is also another type of offices called open plan office. There are no distinct rooms or fully enclosed spaces. Instead, workstations are positioned together sometimes separated by short screens or panels. This kind of offices has also some pros and cons.

In my opinion, open space office are nosier and can be more chaotic than closed one. Employees are in one large area and some phone conversation or live-call will be overheard easily. When there are several conversations happening at one time, it can get quite noisily. This can led employees becoming distracted, which may lessen productivity.

Another disadvantage is that security in open plan office is reduced. Each employee lacks a lockable door. Therefor this can lead to some risks and issues. And also sicknesses and infections can spread anybody.

There are some managers, who believe that open plan office can lead to get more productivity. They are talking about communication between employees, which becomes easer – departments as everyone is the same area. Open offices are suggested to be more economical when it comes to finance for ementies such as air conditioning and electricity.
