Beds (except trundles, top bunks, Futons, rollaways and sleep sofas) are made the day of arrival. Each home provides one bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloth per sleeping capacity of advertised beds, one bath mat for each full bathroom, one hand towel per half bath and two kitchen towels. All homes are cleaned and linens changed prior to guest arrival and upon guest departure. For those vacationing longer than one week, mid-stay cleaning and linen change services are available (once per week). These services are complimentary, but must be requested in advance. Twiddy Traditional Homes are ideal for guests who seek a classic single-family vacation home. Enjoy reasonably-priced accommodations coupled with Twiddy & Company’s unparalleled service. Traditional Homes offer the standard equipment and furnishings; however, bed and bath linens, kitchen towels and bed-making services are not included (unless otherwise advertised). Guests may rent bed and bath linens through Twiddy (a package for the whole home, or individual sets) or bring their own bed and bath linens from home. Please contact us in advance if you would like to arrange for linen rental.
Traditional Homes offer significant cost savings in a comfortable, clean and inviting setting. Such cozy cottages have attracted visitors to the Outer Banks for many years. Create your own treasured memories in a Twiddy Traditional Home! Homes designated with a "T" at the end of the property name are Traditional Homes. Please note: Bed and bath linens and kitchen towels are not included in Twiddy Traditional Homes. Homes with Private Wells Homes with private wells are listed accordingly in their property description. Homes with private wells can occasionally experience low pressure, salty, distasteful or discolored water. There may be an unpleasant sulfur odor. Private well water may discolor hair and/or clothing. Many guests choose to use bottled water for drinking purposes even though the water is tested regularly for contaminants. All homes on the 4x4 beaches have private wells and may have more prevalent water problems, even in homes with water filtration systems.
Each vacation home is equipped with a landline telephone. The vacation home phone number can be found by logging in to your Guest Account, and it will be included with your check-in packet. All homes have a long distance block unless otherwise advertised. Any unauthorized long distance calls charged to the vacation home telephone will be billed to the leaseholder. If police, fire or emergency medical assistance is needed, dial 911. Each vacation home provides either a gas or charcoal grill. Propane for gas grills is supplied. Charcoal is not provided. If your vacation home advertises a gas grill and you need a propane refill during your stay, empty propane tanks can be exchanged at Twiddy’s offices or at the locations listed below. Bring the empty tank to the Duck or Corolla office during business hours and we will exchange it for you, or you may exchange it at one of the following locations. If your vacation home advertises a gas grill as an amenity and you purchase a propane refill, you may bring or mail your receipt to the Duck or Corolla office for reimbursement, at which time a check will be mailed to your home address.
