The ReStore is a retail store open to the general public that sells new and used building materials, cabinets, appliances, home décor, furniture and more at 25% to 90% below retail prices – items which are generously donated by local businesses, building contractors, and the general public or purchased from companies that reduce, reuse and recycle. The ReStore is a continuous fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County – sales proceeds go to help build Habitat for Humanity houses with families in our community. The ReStore’s inventory changes on a daily basis with all the donations our wonderful community provide; so stop in and shop regularly.

Volunteering at the ReStore is a fun way to make a difference in your community without swinging a hammer or getting your shoes muddy. Not only do ReStore volunteers help Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes in Elkhart County, but they also keep our community clean and green by diverting more than 200 tons of reusable material out of the waste stream every year! ReStore volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer. To learn more about volunteering click here. Donations of new and used materials are the lifeblood of the ReStore. They can be dropped off at the ReStore during regular business hours – Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 5pm, or pick-ups can be scheduled by contacting the ReStore at (574) 533-1823. Pick-ups are generally 5-10 business days out and general public pickups are available Tuesday – Thursday during business hours.
Tax Deductible 501(c)(3) donation receipts are provided for all drop-offs and pick-ups. Cassettes- music and VHS Recorded/burned CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays Non working electronics (or over 5 years old): Monitors (working flat screens accepted) Extra Information for non accepted donations: Items deemed as hazardous to staff, volunteers, and/or customers cannot be accepted. These items can include, but are not limited to, broken or chipped ceramics or glass, dishes, or tiles; frayed or exposed electrical wires; and unframed glass and mirrors. Items in poor condition cannot be accepted. Poor condition refers to signs of wear-and-tear including but not limited to: rips;
Items exposed to mold cannot be accepted as a donation EVER. Unless the item is vintage, antique, or serves a noticeable re-purposing function, it must be in working condition to be accepted. Some items brand new in the box/original packaging may be accepted even if it is on the list of unacceptable donations – on a case by case basis. We also maintain our ReStore inventory by salvaging reusable items from homes that are scheduled for demolition. Deconstruction is an easy way to recycle cabinets, sinks, toilets, carpeting, appliances, light fixtures, or anything else in decent condition and deserving of a “second chance.” If you would like to donate items from a home, our salvage crew can come and remove the items for you – Tax Deductible 501(c)(3) donation receipts are provided upon completion of the Deconstruction Project.
