General Refuse & Recycling Policies The Town publishes these policies so our residents will have maximum access to information about the town. For specific questions, please contact the Recycling Coordinator at (203) 287-7021. : There is no curbside refuse or recycling collection on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Collection for that day and the days of the week following are delayed by one day, unless the holiday falls on a weekend, in which case refuse/recyling pick-up will continue on the regular schedule. The Transfer Station is closed to the public on all State and Federal holidays. Items NOT acceptable for regular refuse pickup: Bulk trash - (e.g., furniture, mattresses, rugs, appliances, etc.) - Bulk trash is picked up at the curbside during the entire months of April and October. The guide is available online here or a printed copy can be picked up at Public Works, Town Clerk’s office, Solid Waste & Recycling Office, and the Miller Library. If a material is not listed as acceptable for recycling in the guide, DO NOT put it out for recycling.
