Cons Hours are pretty long and work weekends. That is about my only thing that I can say to be a con. I've maintained Friendships with a lot of these fellows.Mattresses have a high mark up too! That means the closer to ticket price, you'll be set for the day! Maximize those sales and sell accessories aka essentials...To quote the Legendary Kirk Goldin: "A mattress....is like a cake....And the essentials, are like the icing on the cake." He hit the nail on the head! Who'd want a plain boring cake!? Go hard or go home! Open to close 10-9The nice thing is most work 4 daysWorking alone does get lonelyManagement changes a lot Advice to Management Understand that some of us truly value this job.

Feb 23, 2017 I worked at Mattress Firm full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Chances to move up in company Cons Not very good work life balance Advice to Management Work Life balance Feb 22, 2017 I have been working at Mattress Firm full-time (More than 3 years) Pros Mattress firm strongly develops their people, and while there are ups and downs in the sales side of things (which is a majority of the business), their top-down approach makes this a wonderful company to work for. Cons The hours are long, and the expectations are ceaseless. Advice to Management Keep up the good work. Feb 22, 2017 I have been working at Mattress Firm full-time Pros Great Company with awesome culture! Cons In dustry has been hit hard this year, but management makes adjustments to overcome loss in business with bonuses. Advice to Management Area Managers need more time to assist their stores, should be more salay based pay and less dependant on personal sales.

Feb 20, 2017 I have been working at Mattress Firm full-time (More than a year) Pros Okay work hours, holiday pay, sometimes weekends off, good work atmosphere Cons Hard to get hired for infirm positions, have to work weekends sometimes or late nights Advice to Management Look into people that work in this company already. Some of the people got more experience and work really hard and don't get picked for position, but people with less expires and less work effort get picked. Feb 27, 2017 Helpful (4) I worked at Mattress Firm full-time (Less than a year) Pros If your strapped for cash the pay is 50 hours per week x $15.75. Company Kool Aid is drinkable for 4 to 5 months. Cons Here's the absolute bottom line on pay, post first 60 days. Hourly wage ($15.75) x 50 hours a week. This is guaranteed 'draw'. In order to make over the draw, you have to gross over $17,700 per 15 day period. Based on exact numbers I have seen, you have a 12% chance of doing that. To hit store budget, managers have a 17% chance , again based on exact numbers.

All holidays, weekends are gone. Exact numbers suggest, in the middle of the bell curve, that 10 out of 12 months you will reveive hourly wage of $15.75. Simply put, you have a 3x better chance of winning a randomnblack jack game than winning a commision or bonus check.
